Start dishing out mandatory 10 years for carrying a knife. This happened in Glasgow in the 1920's/30's. This is a plague now we need guts from our politicians.......

Agree; carrying a knife (or a gun) shows intent or why have one? :?

Seven murders in London last week, inc. the poor 87 year old guy on the mobility scooter. What possible 'threat' could he have been to anyone?

In the absence of capitol punishment, circumstances like that should carry a mandatory 'life means life' tarrif with an option for a voluntary injection to save everyone time and (tax) money

Genuine question.
There was a photo of a suspect of a guy who the police were looking for in relation to the murder of the man on the mobility scooter on the bbc news online. It was a black guy with hoodie etc etc.
the description given was only of the clothes that he was wearing not the colour of his skin. Surely if it was stating that the suspect should not be approached as he may be dangerous, his ethnicity may have been quite handy to know wouldn’t it?

Too late for that at this point. When you have fools who are willing to take a life based of the letters of someone’s postcode then I don’t blame people in such areas for carrying things to defend themselves.

For example if I was American I’d ashamedly own a gun with the desire that one day I’ll be forced to give it to the state

I see your point and the social/liberal arguments are a minefield depending on where one stands; but we have to do something positive as a society and stem the tide
