Should be starting every game.

Been on for 2 minutes and has done more than sawyers all game

In fairness Colwell did well when he came on against Brum as well. Putting in more physical Its clear that he is better than a few in the starting 11. Needs to start next time.

Agreed.

His brother is quality.

Rubin is good enough to start, but Morison, i hear is not his biggest fan.

That's what I have heard. Morison showing his inexperience here.

People are calling for Colwill to start. We will be lucky if he is a Cardiff player come the close of the transfer window.

He could easily start ahead of others but he does need too much time on some occasions.

His calmness does sometimes go against him and he loses the ball.

That, is the problem with him being a starter in the team atm imo.

Agree 100% his passing is outstanding, top young player, can score goals etc.. surely we can fit him in the starting team!

hopefully along with a forward that can put the ball in the net!

Surely SM is running out of excuses for not starting Ruben because I think in the 25 minutes he was on the pitch he probably had the most touches in the Bristol half of any player, probably had the highest pass completion % and certainly fouls drawn.

The thing is with Ruben he ALWAYS looks to get us playing and keep us on the front foot but SM seems to favour players whose first instinct is backwards or sideways. Ruben can also pick a pass which when you have players with good movement like O'Dowda, Ojo , Harris and yes Watters he is the player they need.

For me it's Ruben time the lad is ready.

Rinomhota was anonymous today. Maybe move Sawyers further back and Colwill at 10?

He needs to play. Morrison try to encourage and give him 10 games.

Morisons does not like Rubin Colwill. The best player we have with creativity, passing and time on the ball. I'm still not a fan of Morison.

Like I’ve said before. Colwill has quality but he hasn’t got the work ethic that SM likes in a player. I think that’s the reason he doesn’t start. He should start the next game in my opinion though. Leave Colwill and Watters/Etete linger up front. They need to conserve their energy and be in the right position for when we attack. Let the rest of the team do the hard work and win the ball back. They are there to provide the service to the strikers.

Playing 2 strikers and RC will leave us short in midfield though mate.
Agree re reasons Colwill isn’t starting.

Sorry, I mean Watters or Etete. Not both at the same time.

I think Rubin is really sluggish off the mark and over the first 5 yards. When he gets on the ball his quality and creativity is obvious, but he just looks a bit heavy to me.

He needs to be on the pitch more.

We lack creativity between the lines and Rubin brings that.

Most agree with the gaffer that he needed to work harder without the ball and he's showing he's doing that now.
Should be rewarded with a run in the starting XI.

I, like you, have believed that Colwill will be a top player for us.

Up until this season though I could see why Morison wasn’t picking him as he didn’t do enough closing down and he wasn’t physical enough to play in this system.

However, from what I have seen of him this season he’s worked on those weaknesses and looks like he could make a real difference for us, particularly in home games.

I think Morison now needs to give him a chance to see what he can do. I’d even play him as a false “9” rather than put up with Watters for a moment longer !! He’s certainly got a goal in him.

Selection for Saturday will be interesting, Preston have one of the best defences in the Championship so breaking them down is going to be tough.

I've suspected that Colwill could be effective in a more advanced position, was discussing a false 9 with someone only yesterday, with the way things are I think it would certainly be worth considering as an option.

Re: ' Rubin Colwill '

Sawyers is in his way and it is good for Colwill to understudy a quality pro such as Sawyers. But, there will be a point when Rubin cannot be held back any longer and that time will hopefully come this season.

There are so many fixtures bunched together thanks to the World Cup there is no reason both Sawyers and Colwill can start games.

I totally agree with you about trying Colwill in a false 9 position. I think it could work really well, especially with the way we knock the ball around at home.

Look at how Harry Kane plays, dropping deep, getting on the ball, drifting around, then make late runs into the box. I think Colwill could play a similar role for us. He's got too much talent to waste, especially as we're struggling for goals.

Play him as a false 9 , because the real 9's are not doing it .
