The Bluebirds boss was asked about comments Birmingham City's Troy Deeney and John Eustace, as well as Reading boss Paul Ince, made pertaining to transfer outlays this summer.
Both Birmingham and Reading delegates made the same claim that Cardiff had "spent a lot of money" in this transfer window, while only two of the players who have been brought in were said to have costed a transfer fee.
And, clearing up the financials, Morison said of the comments: "I might have missed something! I don’t want to go into the finances, but I think everyone knows.
"We are working at half-cock of where we were before. Maybe it’s them showing us a little bit of respect regarding the window we’ve had. But rather than say that they say we have spent a lot of money.
"We have spent on Ollie Tanner, 35 grand, and Kion [Etete], on what you know it is (£500k). Apart from that, everything else is cheap as chips! Free!"
