McGuinness: The ambition is to win the league
Mark McGuinness has his sights set on winning League One while on loan with Sheffield Wednesday.
"It is something that I have been looking forward to since I heard they were interested so I am looking forward to getting cracking," he said of the loan move to Hillsborough.
"I had a good season last season and I want to continue playing games and developing. When a club likes Sheffield Wednesday comes along and gives you an opportunity, I couldn't turn it down.
"Sheffield Wednesday are a huge club with a lot of pedigree so for me it was a no-brainer in terms of getting great experience in a great city and under a good manager as well. The ambition is to try and get promoted and to try and win the league.
"That was something that definitely drew me to the club as well."
The move reunites McGuinness with former Bluebird Will Vaulks, of course. Speaking about the Wales international, McGuinness said: "I was with Will last season; he's a great guy and I'm sure everyone in the squad is just like him so I am looking forward to meeting everyone else as well."
