Sheffield Wednesday expected to sign Cardiff defender Mark McGuinness on loan ahead of interest from Wigan.


Curtis Nelson aged 29 , 111 appearances for the Bluebirds.


Tom Sang aged 23 for the 3rd time going out ( Cheltenham & St Johnstone over last two seasons).

Gavin Whyte aged 23 for the 3rd time as well ( Hull & Oxford United over the last 2 seasons )



Are all being offered to interested clubs by Steve Morison.



Two others also set to leave.

Purely bigged up and used as a stop gap pending the clear out. Good to see 1 or 2 of them finally coming through and that the standard seems to be improving but as you say no club ever produces that many

Yep it's great news due to the positive start and shrewd business in the market he's been told if he can get some out he can get some more good players in

I’ve counted 8 in our present squad who have been brought through the Academy, that’s got to be the most for a long time! Not all of them will make it as Championship regulars perhaps but all will make it as professional footballers and hopefully at least two as Premier League/ Welsh Internationals.I also thought our former player Ajayi was WBA best player last night!

People seem to think that someone who's been with a professional football since 10 or 11 is somehow going to suddenly become a better player at 19/20/21. They're not, they've reached the summit of their ability, albeit with some scope for ironing out weaknesses. Morison obviously wants a squad with no 'dead wood' - able to call on any of his squad if and when needed.
