Cardiff 'need another experienced forward option'

Cardiff City need another experienced striker in on loan to ease the burden on the young forwards currently at their disposal, believes Scott Johnson.

In his column this week, he wrote of the striker situation: "Isaak Davies is quick, brave and aggressive. It’s a shame that he has been absent throughout pre-season because I would have loved to have seen him tried in the attacking role that Max Watters has performed. A potential central link up between the pair is the combination that supporters fantasise about. A Welsh, home grown, dynamic duo.

"The arrival of Kion Etete is another exciting signing. He looks to be a real prospect. A two-footed and selfless striker, but he is very young and inexperienced. He was signed for the present, but with an eye on the future. It feels like the Cardiff squad is more or less complete, but I feel like an experienced striker would really complete the set.

"Someone like free agent Lewis Grabban, Bristol City’s Nahki Wells or even a return for Jordan Hugill would ease the burden and aid the development of Cardiff’s young attacking prospects."
