Pompey fans free reign around the stadium

Postby bluebirdoct1962 » Tue Aug 09, 2022 11:08 pm

Some of their scummy fans made their way around the back of the canton end, past main entrance before eventually being escorted by stewards to their area.
About 8 of them, mid 20s foul mouthing everyone they walked past (Welsh cnuts, feckin this and that). Felt so bad as it was my grandsons first game and they were a bit nervous.
One city fan, around the same age went up to the group and held up his fists but the 8 just walked off shouting vile, racist abuse (feck off you black Welsh Cnut).
Where were the police?
I understand that largely, this sort of behaviour is now few and far between but they were bringing 1,000 and there’s a bit of history there.
Anyway, I complained to a steward about the racist / foul mouthed abuse and tbf there was little he could do.
I’ve always thought Pompey had decent fans but I’m afraid my mind has been well and truly changed after this evening.
Luckily my boys weren’t too put off, even after the result and both want to come again. :bluescarf:

Andrew, it's a shame your grandson had to endure/witness that and it makes the blood boil :(

I think you passed me on the way out heading past KFC, if youhad a light blue collared t-shirt on? I did call out but was heading the opposite direction

Shame about the result and your grandson's experience

This is the sort of behaviour the authorities should come down heavily on.

I'm all for ignoring it in the hope they will get bored but there comes a time where action is needed and this was one of the occasions. The stewards should have got the police involved instead of escorting them to the away section.

Yes I agree. There’s surely intercoms that they could have used

Seen them lot, a few older lads approached them and just skulked off with tails between their legs, typical youngsters, more concerned with mobile phones. :bluebird:

That was it. Just outside ticket office was where they suddenly decided to be a bit quieter.

I saw the same group passing the ticket office too, they were also belting out a chant. Something along the lines of " Stand up, stand up to lift the FA cup we were there we were there"

They were probably around 7 at the time so with their dad or mum or very likely not even there!
