I am not going to get carried away by today first match , but boy I enjoyed that.
Let’s have more, players gave everything, Ref gave gave virtually nothing.
I never say this but Ref so biased for Norwich.
FIRST-HALF:
Not many chances at all by Cardiff , but passed well and an even game so far.
Cardiff City holding their own against a good Norwich team. Ojo gave the ball away to many times.
Second-Half: Sawyer scored a brilliant goal 1 nil, Norwich then hit crossbar
NG sent off for 2nd yellow card 74th min. Cardiff deserved their win, Collins man of the match
Alsop for City great game.
Our first win in opening game for 4 years so this Young Cardiff fan next to me in Cantina Santa Ponsa says.
CARDIFF CITY 1 NORWICH CITY 0
H-T 0-0
Crowd 19,969
Away Support: 1,850
Cardiff City: Allsop; Romeo, Ng, Kipre, Collins; Wintle, Sawyers, Rinomhota; Ojo, Watters, O'Dowda.
Subs: Alnwick, Nelson, Ralls, Sang, Whyte, Tanner, Harris.
GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Norwich City (Sawyers 49)
Sawyers smacks it from 25 yards and it wobbles and dips into the bottom corner. Lovely strike. Fantastic build-up play from O'Dowda, who danced past his marker to create the chance
58th min:
Mark Harris and Joe Ralls on.
Romaine Sawyers and Max Watters off.
75th min:
Ojo off, Curtis Nelson on.
81st min: 81
Sang and Whyte on. Rinomhota and O'Dowda off.
85 RED CARD! Hanley goes for a challenge on Harris

Passing, but not for passing sake, then BITE with a capital Beee.....
Need two strikers, I really wanted Watters to make the jump but he is a lower league terror, the defenders are a step ahead of him all the time

To be fair, Watters was left a little isolated but ran his backside off and the team will gel further as time goes on...

Agreed and every cross seemed to be way over his head where he had no chance of reaching it. I still think he needs to be given a run to gel with the new players.

Now if youll read the 'pinkun', Norwich forum, youll see we offered nothing, were a poor outfit, very ordinary, didnt deserve the win etc etc... oh and only won because we were a dirty, fouling team... and the ref lost it for thwm, by giving everything to us!

I thought Norwich were appallingly dirty today. They thoroughly hated being beaten by a team I’m sure they thought were cannon fodder

Its not a night for critism, I think he'll get a run

Collins played very well, but you cant deny that up to this point he was an unknown and a risk.
One game doesnt make the man, but its a very encouraging starting debut.

No, but it's a bloody good start against a bloody good side and on today's evidence, the 'risk' looks a savvy one...![]()
Surely, not every post you put out HAS to have an element of cautioys negativity?

Of course he was a risk. Nobody had ever heard of him or seen him play. He was also from a lower league. So being sceptical about him was justified because nobody knew of him and it could have gone either way. Nobody wrote him off from what I saw, we all hoped he’d turn out to be good. Looking like he is going to be a very good player for us. Impressive scouting from the club.
