Think he went for £110,000 which was a huge fee then. He was my hero at the time and I was gutted when he left.

We just missed out of promotion that season to the old First division and it turned out to be the start of our demise.

Spot on. I have always said that Warboys was a very good replacement for Toshack that season. He scored a hatful including two on his debut as well as 4 in the first half against Carlisle. But as you rightly point out it took us a while to replace Tosh and in that time we went lost a few games we should have won. We had a very young Derek Showers up front.
