Captain.

Have we got one yet? I’d imagine that we will want tbr captain to be a nailed on starter and one of our own players.

Even ralls won’t be nailed on given the competition for places in mid field.

Any thoughts?

Wintle, he’ll play every game when he’s fit and seems to be super confident in his demeanour.

No way should it be Ralls or Nelson, neither will be first choice in my opinion.

Perry Ng referring to Wintle as The Skip on Instagram. Hmmm.

Not sure he's got the presence of a captain but that might just be because we are used to people like Morrison I guess.

Good for him if so though, should never have been sent on loan last season, but came back and has made himself the first choice in the middle, even with the newer players

Needs to be someone who will play the majority of games. How many captains did we have last season? 4 or 5? Morrison, Flint, Ralls, Nelson and even possibly Pack?

Be very happy with Wintle, leads by example and is a very good professional by all accounts. He seems to be integral to this system too.

Wintle was the first name that sprung to my mind too. He quietly gets on with his job and he's very effective. He reminds me of Carrick with his passing ability, knitting the play together, good positionally and makes the game look easy. I think Wintle will be even better this season with more movement and talent in front of him. His goal against Swindon was excellent.

Wintle for me too, because he seems the only real option. I would say Sawyers, right position on the field, in the centre, but will the captaincy affect his game?

Others are either too new and inexperienced or simply kids.

I might throw Ng's name into the mix. He previously captained Crewe.

Agreed it is Wintle, he was Captain on Saturday and did a good job, right in the middle of the pitch and leads by example.

We were all wrong. Ralls looking at the squad list.

Must be because they think he’ll have a better view and impact watching from the bench !! Is he really going to get into the first XI in front of Sawyers, Rhino and Wintle !!??

Ralls club captain , Wintle team captain . Similar to when Hudson was club captain under Malky in the PL , and Caulker was team captain. Hudson very rarely played , probably be the same with Ralls . Its a squad game now more than ever .
