Updated: Cardiff interested in Striker: £500,000

Sun Jul 24, 2022 9:53 am

Updated:

Ellis Simms believed to be available for around £500k.

Football Insider:

Top signing for any Championship club at that price; has an eye for goal & a very favourable physical/athletic profile for 21. Millwall seemingly are leading the chase with Cardiff and Middlesbrough too interested, with the Welsh club only wanting to loan the striker, they might fall by the wayside.

Cardiff have left it so late to get a striker, over 6 months.

We sold Kieffer Moore and in the end received approx £4mill, we knew from that day we needed a new striker or 2 strikers.

For me personally we should of had one in for the pre-season games, but it’s never to late as they say.

One player to keep an eye on is Everton’s Ellis Simms aged 21, Cardiff have enquired about him. Several Championship clubs are also monitoring his availability.

Also can't believe deals haven't been done with Prem teams

We've signed 13 or more players and no strikers , I genuinely believe one or two will arrive in coming days

Chris wilder saying its difficult to get In strikers when premier league clubs are still sorting out their squads? Transfer window is out of tilt with season it still got 42days to go before it closes but league starts in 7 & 14 days time ... most clubs in championship hope to pick up good young striker from premier league to supplement their team but got to be patient about things unfortunately.... only alternative is try foreign markets like hull have done be calling them Turkey hull got so many players from Turkish league.. :D

I doubt that the Prem/EFL didn't even think of this

World cup decision has a lot to answer for

Aprantley Everton are willing to sell for 500k which is a bargain. Personally I would like us to sign him permanent as I think he would go for way more than that after a season in the championship.

Seen him a few times last season and he caused the old firm defences problems and some Everton fans wanted him to have a run in the first team but Lampard doesn't seem keen on him. Hope this one comes off.

No need to panic just yet. I think the gaffer is working hard to get the right player in.

Totally messed up football! Crazy that window still open a month after season starts.... and this season as been particularly badly affected as clubs cannot afford to buy players as much and relying on loans and freebies..

Annis that would be me, I have been told that it is still a go at the moment, but there were certain problems, and if and when it is announced I can then say what those problems were. If i said it now what they were it would show the club where the info was coming from

Also another reason why pre season friendlies may not have been organised with prem teams as they are at different fitness levels

Not Playing premier league clubs in friendlies doesnt matter in reality... play and lose and people say cant beat a 2nd string team ? Pre season friendlies is about playing together and did notice less passing went astray yesterday and was slicker than other games so to thst end these games hav served their purpose.

Agree but some people on here, not me, were questioning why we were playing lower division teams , this could be one of reasons

I would prefer we use pre-season to get into a winning habit rather than play supposed big teams

As I said on another thread strikers good ones anyway cost money a lot of money and I think Morrisons hands have been tied because Tan wont spend money.

If we want a fairly decent striker we will have to spend money

Still a go at the moment?

So is there a chance that this doesn’t happen? I thought it was all confirmed and was just waiting to be announced.

Can you tell us anything? Age, previous clubs, form, left foot or right foot, big and strong, small and quick, etc

I understand Liam Delap's transfer to Southampton has fallen through. Supposedly there are now a number of championship clubs trying to sign him on a seasons loan. I wonder if we are one of them?

I think our management team are fully aware that 2 decent strikers will make or break our team this season

I still reckon with no info that we've two lined up before next Saturday
