Can never get a clear indication in pre-season, given the standard of opposition, but Cardiff looked in really good shape today. Been a really positive pre-season and the style of play has come along a lot further than I thought it would have at this stage

Obviously next week is a different beast. A team that'll be one of the strongest in the division, how will the passing out from the back and high press hold up? A win and it suddenly becomes really exciting. A big loss and it's a bit of a reality check. Roll on next Saturday!

I think it’s a lot to look forward to.

Pre-season has been a bit iffy at times, but that’s down to fitness, changing style of play, and new players all gelling together.

It looks like it’s starting to come together now, and they have the full week now as well to get the game plan together ready for Norwich.

Really want Watters to do well this season. He’s done well in patches, and other times not so much. Albeit against League 2 opposition, I thought he was outstanding against Swindon. You can see how much he has improved as a player, and his all round game is coming on.

Again, although it’s against league 2 opposition, the hardest thing in football is putting the ball in the net / creating chances. We scored 4 against Swindon, and we’ve had promotion in the past without a striker hitting double figures. There is enough ability in the midfield and wingers to chip in with goals, so lots to look forward to!

City took care of a side 2 divisions below them like they should of. The thing thats always missing in friendlies is full on contact. I pretty confidant our lot are no shrinking violets and have yet to reveal this aspect of our game.

We’ve looked really composed and full of energy so far without a “first choice” striker. Only positives so far and if to be honest, if we went in with Watters, Crole and Harris then it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. As I said in a thread yesterday, Watters has more than earned his start v Norwich. I wouldn’t expect any striker to come in and start ahead of him after how impressive he has been in pre season. 3 really well taken goals and hugely involved in some of the best link up play I’ve seen us play in years. Fantastic assist for Wintle, he was really vocal by demanding it of Ojo on the first place and deserved another assist for the ball to Rino who scuffed it wide when he really should have hit the target.

Feeling a lot more positive than I was this time last season. Have got some quality creative players in the team that makes a massive difference.
