Getting harder these days to get quality teams to play in pre -season friendlies for many championship clubs
- Most championship clubs don’t play friendlies any team who they will play in the league
- Lots of premier league teams now go abroad for money
- Premier league teams request payment for friendlies
- Also not sure that we would offer better teams the type of game they would have been looking for this season
- This year there has been a lack of foreign sides coming to UK for friendlies ( post brexit so much more work involved )
If you look back we usually played one quality team and the rest were places like a tour of Devon playing teams like Tavistock Do overall maybe the quality has been better than the Warnock years overall

doesn't matter who we play against, its fitness that is the main factor for me. i find lower league sides like to mix up their style of play aswell, where as bigger clubs maintain 1 style of play so we can adapt and see how to break down different styles.
also run the risk against bigger teams of one of our players impressing and being sold

I remember the Tavistock friendly, Madine scored 4 times and the cider and pasties were fantastic.

Surly we could have brought a Scottish team down to play us hearts Hibernian Aberdeen Celtic or rangers to play us at Cardiff city stadium I’m sure they would have brought big support to our ground it would get all in the mood for when the season starts I’m looking forward to next Saturday should be a cracker against Norwich

Makes sense Annis, I think they've been alright overall, yesterdays was a good game and time for things to start to fall into place, it's had to tell against weaker opposition but I reckon add a McCormack to that team and it could get interesting

Passing was slicker and less going astray some lovely link up play for two of goals.. get that elusive young goalscorer from premier league club and could do well this season.
