Josh Murphy axed after Reading trial

Former Cardiff City winger Josh Murphy will not sign for Reading after a trial period with the Championship club.


left Cardiff for free at the end of his contract this summer following a nightmare loan spell with Preston North End last season.

He is now on the lookout for a new club and was offered the chance to trial with the Royals alongside Connor Wickham, Jodi Jones and Grant Ward, but BerkshireLive state none of them will sign for the club and have been let go. always felt you could tell what kind of game Murphy would have after his first run with the ball, if he beat his man he would have a decent game, if he didn't his head would just drop. during the time we lacked a striker, think i might have been just before Moore came in, we lacked anyone uptop, and i always felt trying him as a number 9 might make a difference. sadly he will be another one who finds himself in league one or two
