Steve Morison gives transfer hint

Steve Morison has said Cardiff need "a couple more" signings before the transfer window closes.

STEVE MORISON:

Some wondered whether there might only be a solitary striker coming through the door, however Morison is confident he can get at least one more through the door in the coming weeks.

"We've signed some excellent players," he said after the Cheltenham Town game. "I'm really pleased with the group we have got together.

"There are still a couple of additions needed. We know that and they will happen."

The manager also offered a hint as to the type of player he is looking to add to his group. It is thought Cardiff will continue with their transfer mantra of adding more mobility to the squad and, reading between the lines a little, Morison further corroborated that.

"Physical presence can be construed in lots of different ways. If you outrun someone it doesn't matter how big or strong you are," he added.

"We've highlighted what we want, we know what we want. Everyone has been used to a certain way here for a long time. 'You need a big man here, you need a big man there, you need to do this, you need to do that.' We are changing the narrative, we are trying to change it. Trust us."

Not a very positive Outlook from him? Problem is there are 45 days to go before window shuts but 13 days before start season.... do not want to be a month into season before get a striker in....

Not ideal, but we know he's doing everything he can, we can see that with the number of players already here, I think we'll have at least one loan Striker in by the start of the season, I like the sound of a pacey Striker :ayatollah:

I've no doubts bring in at least one striker it's just the timing of it that's a concern.

I wonder if Isaak Davies is close yet and weather he figures in .the Gaffers plans.

Even though the new season is nearly upon us, I still prefer SM to bide his time and get a striker in he believes will benefit the team rather than a desperation buy just because the clock is counting down.

Doubt it as Morison said last season that he was a hindrance.

Great motivating words from SM there don't bode well.

That was for one particular game, not the player in general. He played a lot of games after that.

And anyway, Morison retracted the statement or at least the wording he used. Agree with him or not, Davies came back stronger.

He did only say that for the one game, it wasn’t an overall view of the players season, he admitted he shouldn’t have said it and I think we can put that down to his naievity as a new manager that he could say stuff like that. However at least he was honest I personally prefer that but can see why others wouldn’t want the manager saying it, we don’t know the players opinion he might’ve like the honesty and hence worked harder to change Morison’s mind, I for one think he did .
He also played Isaac Davies the rest of the season barring injuries so I think he has good hopes for the player he just has to work harder for his position now as he has plenty of competition for the winger spot now (I doubt he will be used as a striker, but could be wrong)
