Tom Sang did his chances of first-team inclusion this season no harm at all with yet another accomplished performance on Saturday.
The midfielder followed up impressive showings against Cambridge United and Newport County with another strong showing in Gloucestershire, and looks to be growing in confidence in his previously unfamiliar midfield role.
Speaking after the clash against the Exiles last Tuesday, Morison admitted Sang was now 'in the mix' for contention, and his chances of forcing himself into the senior set-up ahead of the opening-day clash at home to Norwich City grew again here.
"Tom wasn't involved at the start of pre-season, but he has come in and I thought he has been excellent," Morison said ahead of Saturday's clash.“
“Just maybe Tom realises he is a central midfielder.@

Always said he was a midfielder.. Always find space.. Never looks flustered

I've seen Sang and Whyte be far more direct pre season which has reaped limited rewards and it looks effective.

Big difference playing lower league teams - he has to do it in the championship against much better opposition

He was never a full back, just not quick enough there.
However, as a midfielder he does look like he has something. I’d like to see him against a better quality team but maybe he will prove some of us wrong, I thought he would have been better established by his age but maybe he’s a late developer ?
