Over all a poor game by City.
Delighted for Watters, obviously , still say Watters is a league 1 striker. But thought Tom Sang was pretty good again today.
Do wonder whether he's starting to play himself into serious contention now???
Never rated Sang before.

In the midfield 3 would you have sang over wintle, rinamhota or sawyers (after sawyers gets a couple more games in) though? I think he’s played well to be fair in all his pre season games but when it comes to an actual championship game I think I’d stick with that 3 in the midfield.
Sang will be a good backup though, we have good backup all over the midfield if anyone gets injured

It would of been Wintle, but Sang improved massively, Jury still out.
Sang needs to do it v Championship teams.
Sawyers for me.

Agree re Watters Annis, but still prefer him to Harris.

From where i was standing it looked as though Watters deliberately didn't go up for a header that was just behind him as he knew he wouldn't be able to do anything useful with it and was gambling on it dropping to him. Some times it drops to you but usually it doesn't. This time it dropped. He was totally unmarked eight yards out in a crowded penalty area. Luck or the sign of a natural goalscorer?

Where would you fit Ralls into the 3 . For me Ralls has to be one of the 3 to play . Also Ng has to start as a centre back.

I could have netted that my friend and i was half cut

Now Im not necessarily Watters greatest fan, but do we want a striker who always plays well, or who is a goalscorer?
Around 1980, we had Kevin Summerfield and John Seasman as a new strike partnership. Both prolific for Brum and Charlton respectively. A lot was expected of them.
Neither of them scoded a goal for us and within 3 or 4 months both were shipped out.
If we can get Watters into the habit of scoring, then I'd be happy enough for him to be in the 1st XI until we can find someone who can both score and bring others into the game, with movement and hold up play
Now, I hate to say it but this may onvolve sometbing more than just a signing on fee. Will we get our fingers burnt a la Summerfield et al? Maybe, but there are times where we need to find a balance between being risk averse and risk aware.
Being so far in the former is holding us back, not that we should be equally as far the other way, but we need to strike a happy medium.

The point being that some strikers have the uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time.
