‘ CHELTENHAM TOWN v CARDIFF CITY ‘

Fri Jul 15, 2022 7:15 am

Cardiff snatch the win at the death with a shot from Max Watters in 88th min :bluebird: :bluebird:

Over all a poor game by City.

Delighted for Watters, still a league 1 striker in my view. But thought Tom Sang was pretty good again today.

Do wonder whether he's starting to play himself into serious contention now???
Never rated Sang before.

Secomd-Half:

No changes at HT.

59th min Mark Harris equalised with a penalty.

60th min:
A new XI for Cardiff now - Phillips; Campbell, Ng, Kipre, Bagan; Sawyers, Rinomhota, Ralls; Ojo, Watters, O'Dowda

First-Half-

GOAL! Cheltenham 1-0 Cardiff City (Sercombe)

A quickly-taken freekick catches out the Cardiff defence and Sercombe is allowed the time to pick his spot inside the box and drive home.
Very sloppy defending, a bit like last season.

Cardiff controlled midfield v League 1 Cheltenham but had nothing up from except Mark Harris.

Cardiff City: Alnwick; Romeo, McGuinness, Nelson, Collins; King, Wintle, Sang; Whyte, Harris, Leahy

Subs: Phillips; Campbell, Ng, Kipre, Bagan; Sawyers, Rinomhota, Ralls; Ojo, Watters, O'Dowda, Crole, Denham

Rubin Colwill still not involved for Cardiff so far in all three games , although new arrvials Cedric Kipre, Romaine Sawyers, Sheyi Ojo and Callum O'Dowda are all set to get minutes.

Over 700 Cardiff fans travelled to Cheltenham.

PAY ON THE DAY FOR CARDIFF FANS

CARDIFF CITY WILL FIELD THEIR FULL FIRST TEAM.

Thats a decent show for pre season.

Am thinking Swindon will be the biggest following as its the last game before we kick off the season and only just over an hour away.

I have a horrible feeling that some of our 'fans' will try their hardest to make knobs of themselves that day. Same applies to Swindon. Let's hope not. :bluescarf:

The biggest ruck you'll see at Cheltenham is me getting battered by the Wife when she realises she's been duped!!

I feel jewellery coming on....... :bluebird:

CCFC:

Callum O'Dowda, Rubin Colwill, Joe Ralls and Romaine Sawyers are all yet to be called upon, having sat out the previous two games. Whether they will be involved this time around remains to be seen. Cedric Kipre joined City on Friday night, while Sheyi Ojo has also come on board this week. But again, it's not clear whether either will be involved here.

Meanwhile, there are also real doubts over the fitness of Ebou Adams, who suffered a nasty-looking shoulder injury against Cambridge.

Based in Wigan - this will be my 3rd Pre-Season game watching online.

In the past I have not really paid much attention to pre-season but it surprised me how enjoyable it actually is

Just wish circumstances allowed me to be at Cheltenham today

I don’t think our new style suits McGuinness, he’s looked awful on the ball a few times. And he was quite suspect in that regard last season too. On that first half performance the only two players who looked like getting close to the second half team would be Sang and Collins.
