Reading FC:

We’re delighted to have secured the services of experienced midfield man @JeffHendrick92 for the 2022-23 campaign, who joins us on loan from Newcastle United.

Looking forward to the first away game Annis, relatively easy to get to Reading, £20 a ticket hopefully sell our full allocation Saturday 3pm kick off. Already booked to stay overnight in hotel adjoining the stadium. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

One of my favourite away games and so easy for our fans and good value.

Very good signing for this division. If reading can do it why can’t we? Have reading got money or something?
I thought they were in the same situation as us.

Our central midfield is complete. Why waste a part of our budget on another central midfielder?

We have bought players for this position, we also have targets for players

We are after strikers and central defender

Nothing to do with money as such as club has said we are committed to loanees

Now it is, but I would have taken Hendrick over Sawyers to be honest. Not that Sawyers is a bad signing to be fair.

I guess that's subjective. Many factors could come into play, a lack of interest from Morrison, cost, preferring a permanent signing to a loan one, and preferring to use the loan market for other areas of the pitch.

A good signing for Reading though, no doubt.

Very valid points. I don’t want people to think I’m knocking the club or manager by us not signing him by the way. Just think he’s a very decent player for this division and I would have liked to have seen him here personally.

For sure, I can imagine he is on significant wages and a loan fee also being involved.

When you balance that out with who we have signed, the cost of the players we have signed and ability, as well as needed funds to strengthen other areas of the team, I think we've done well - although this does depend on the quality of players we bring in on loan.

Younger players will likely be on lower wages and demand lower loan fees.

He is likely their replacement for Rinomhota, who we got on free, and is possibly on lower wages.

Back to the game away at Reading, a positive result against Norwich, and this will sell put in hours.

I can recall when we used to be given both halves of their away end, and sell out. Lately they have only given us half of their away end......

On the signing of Hendricks for them. A good signing, but he can't do it on his own, and, I'm actually quite pleased with our midfield/wingers.

Reading under transfer embargo so can only sign loans or freebies not sure if this makes much difference as basically
that's all we are doing
