Former Cardiff City striker Oumar Niasse's trial with League One side Portsmouth has been cancelled, according to the Portsmouth News.
Niasse's time with the Bluebirds saw him fail to score in 13 appearances in the second half of their most recent Premier League season. Since then he has spent time with Burton Albion and Huddersfield Town.
He left Burton, also in League One, last season and has reportedly been training with 10th-tier outfit West Didsbury in a bit to maintain some level of fitness.
However, Danny Cowley, who has also been an admirer of James Collins in this window, was prepared to offer him a way back into the game with a trial at Pompey, which was due to begin on Monday.
That has now fallen through, though, and the 32-year-old Senegalese striker is still in search of a new team.

What a change a few years makes.
I remember being part of a group of 20 or so photographers who, prior to a match at Goodison, did a photoshoot of Evertons new £60,000 per week capture of Omar Niasse.
Really big things were expected of him.
