Was not the pitch the same for both sides?

I remember speaking to Tommy Hutchinson about friendly games once and he said (like nearly everyone has said on here) they are for fitness and formations. He also said that in most of the clubs he’d been at the manager would often signal the midfielders to take their foot off the pedal so that the defence would come under pressure more and the strikers would have to work harder for their chances. Makes sense at this stage.

Would have suited Cambridge more being a dry pitch. A slick passing side will always benefit from a wet pitch and thats what we are trying to be. Also, bone hard pitches contribute more to the type of injuries we saw yesterday.I pretty sure if we'd have played them at the CCS we would have run away with it.

Didnt warnock do for the Liverpool game, not water the pitch? Or was the grass left slightly longer? Maybe both
