Striker - Would you give a youngster a chance

Sat Jul 09, 2022 12:00 pm

If we had a striker, in our academy, who scored 41 goals last season - would we give him a chance in our first team?

Let me pose a slightly different question - Liverpool has a youngster playing in their Academy, Oakley Cannonier, who scored 41 goals last season and clearly knows where the net is and how to take his chances.

Could he be worth an inquiry for a season-long loan - Is the Championship too much of a step up?

Thoughts?

A player like that and an experience player to make up 2 would be perfect in my opinion.

Here is a link to some of his goals last season. He certainly knows how to take a goal well.

We have a striker who has scored 18 goals in 26 games in L1 and L2 over the past 2 seasons, which is far more impressive than 41 goals in a youth league in my opinion.

I think we are setup now to give someone like that a chance.

Up here he has been quoted as "being the next Robbie Fowler"
