If, as a club, we could not pay £300k, then thats very, very disappointing.

Not a lot really for experience, Premier experience, Man Utd upbringing, International experience.

got to ask why no other championship club or lower premier club didnt offer 300k+ for him if hes that good afterall not exactly megga bucks is it? ..... personally it's not the fee as we paid more than that to sign other players this window ... could it be other clubs didn't think he was worth 300k? Daft I know but got to be a reason going Scotland instead of efl at least.

By all accounts Morison wanted him. Perhaps he fitted our style of play. Im sure there are clubs who didnt fancy him for whatever reasons.

If The manager wanted him, perhaps the money could/should have been found.

Doesnt really matter now as we are blessed in terms of numbers in midfield. The whole point is its not a lot of wonga, abd it looks like the board said 'No' to backing the manager.

Come on your taking this club not backing morison to an utterly stupid level now? now you say he wasn't backed because after morison fancied him we didn't put offer in.... ffs you say we got enough in midfield so why would morison want him? Why do you believe the news story is the most puzzling thing or is it in your eyes because it makes club look as if we couldn't afford him? Something That sits well with your warped view of ccfc.... I suspect we wasnt even seriously in for him just like so many other players we get linked to... lack of interest from other clubs should tell you something but obviously to you it's all about 300k? :o

Really? And your right, I think we can afford £300k, but the regime refuse to pay it.

People on this board choose to either believe rumours or not, or believe what they read or not.

The OP came out with a story, that, in my opinion, based on the, to use your term 'stupidity' levels' of rigidity of the Regime, might not be far from the truth.

Should I believe Wez when he says he thinks Sawyers sign on fee was more than £300k?

Maybe morison is saving the little budget he does available for a striker. Rather than spending on areas we are already well stocked in. How crazy would that be!

Re: ‘ Dylan Levitt ‘

I'm not disagreeing and fair enough. Bearing in mind the numbers we have in midfield, then that would be prudent.

However it would appear he also was keen on Levitt.

Did the board say 'either one or the other'? If so, then we have a tiny budget dwarfed by the likes of little Luton and Millwall.

Dont you think it's better to take just one and leave budget for someone else in different position? Or you advocating wasting money just to prove got bit money to spend especially as we know dont need both! Dont you think getting in 10+ players requires more budget than spending on 3 or 4? Remembering that no such thing as a freebie all cost something...

More club bashing on here again for a player that no one 100% knows that Steve Morison wants ,the constant negativity from some is getting tired some now zzzzzzzzz.

300k still needs to be generated even if it’s a small amount.

As far as priorities are. We have a lot of defenders and even if he’s better, the side is still ok for defenders. We aren’t ok for strikers so rather save that cash for where it’s needed. If we get the right strikers then we can look to spend more on better defenders if they are available at the time.

It’s about priorities and building a squad with a plan in mind for how it’s constructed. We’ve had too many cases of no plan and picking up players just because they are available before.

Re: ‘ Dylan Levitt ‘

Fri Jul 08, 2022 12:27 pm

I don't think he was ever a priority. I can't believe if a championship club was interested he'd would have chosen Dundee. Another thing is the wages in Scotland at that level are way lower than he would have got in the champ.

Re: ‘ Dylan Levitt ‘

Perhaps we wanted to loan him as he’s a little untested at this level. Man Utd chose to take a low cash sale over covering wages further into his career.

Let’s face it, at 21 if he’s not in the Man Utd team he’s never going to be
