For me, retaining Ralls is as important as signing those new players.
Underrated imo by many but his club experience will be vital even if he doesn’t start all the time .

Rhys,

Yes Dave Jones did this, but boy the names and quality of the players he brought in were unbelievable.

Malky and Warnock both had the chance to build their own team and not rely on previous managers players

We all know how those seasons panned out!

Both promotions to the Premier League and brought in hundreds of £millions over seen the spending by Tan / Committee.

No one moaned at the time including I never.

Well hopefully Top 2 this season with how SM & Glen Williams keep describing the new team.

Annis,

SM has never mentioned the top 2. Why do you keep banging this drum?

Of course SM is being upbeat about his signings, would you prefer he played them down saying 'well, we don't have money of any consequence to spend, so these players are the best we can get and hopefully it'll work out and we'll have a reasonable campaign"?

The guy has done a very good job re recruitment this summer and it will be his team and he will be judged accordingly. But, please let's stop banging an about the top 2 and accept its going to be a challenging season but one in which I think we can prosper and once more take pride in our team and how they perform.

That’s my view Top 2.

Due to how Morison and Glen William so highly rate this new team and how Morison has said he is more than happy with his new players , then surely your aim as a manager if you really believe they are that good, you aim for the highest , do you not?

If Morison has done such a very good job of recruiting all these players, then hopefully they will be very good, if we make the play -offs that will be a good job, if we make Top 2 that will be a very good job as you say.

If your saying that for the 5th year in a row we are in the middle of another transitional period, then it’s a NO from me.

I heard that once again last season and that we had a fantastic 12 players put in the squad and we nearly got relegated by them.

I will not say these new players are good or bad and nor can you or anyone else yet until we have seen games.

My view after 10-12 league games plus of course 5 friendlies etc we should know how we will fare.

Let’s get behind them and think of going places , Not relegation or mid table, but to go higher.

Be positive surely get that feeling of this is our season.

I don’t get how you can think we’re in anything but a transition?

With loans, we lost/got rid of 13 players from last season and have so far brought in 10 new ones with more on the way. We’ve got a new manager who is building a squad of players he wants and who will play his style of football instead of inheriting previous managers’ players and tactics. If that’s not transitional I don’t know what it.

I for one will be disappointed with anything lower than 12th. Around 10th and still with something to play for come the final few weeks of the season I’ll be pleased with. Sneaking into 6th place I’d be delighted with. Then we can hopefully build on a stable foundation and move forwards for the next few years and not be changing managers every 18-24 months.

Most of all I’m looking forward to a new style of football that’s looking likely to be a lot more enjoyable than what we’ve had for years and years now.

+1 it’s clearly a club adapting to life without money. Morrison is under no illusions and is still eager to get on with it - doing a great job. I’m expecting about 12th-18th with a decent player we own sold for £ in January. Anything above that’s a bonus. I’ve read the room, we will be lucky to compete at the top end we all know it. Great year off the pitch for the club.

How many transitions do you have ?

It’s bad enough having 11 managers in 12 years.

We can’t keep saying it.

Let’s just feel positive and go for it.

The last 3 seasons we’ve had NO money and had to sell to bring in players every time.

I agree with that we just didn’t have any wiggle room in the budget due to the long & high contracts amongst the squad. It’s a relief to have a structure return IMO.

Welcome back Neil.

Have not the last 7 years been totally under the control of the CCFC COMMITTEE?
Tan, Dalman & Choo.

I never saw any 7 year contracts , did you?

We e adapted without money for the last 4 years, fans now want to see a bit of ambition and want our club to be targeting promotion even if a few of you don’t want to.
