Line up for first game (so far)

Postby Moff. » Wed Jul 06, 2022 9:44 am

Getting excited for the new season, with the signings we’ve made so far we are as good as any one in the division.

Excited too see how sawyers does and wether he has any impact on colwills development.

I think we will line up like this for our first game

Allsop

Romeo McGuiness nelson denham

Looks decent, we will know more about what system he plays after Saturday. For me at the moment it would be;

Alsopp
Romeo NG Mcguiness Collins
Wintle Rinhomota
O’Dowda Sawyers Tanner
Colwill

That will change a lot in the next few weeks though I’m sure.

Fairly decent thought process, although I'm not sure Tanner will be utilised as a wing back....

Colwill too Cant be a loan striker.

EDIT: I see your playing a back 4, so claw back my comment on Tanner.

Can you see us playing 4 at the back though ?

3 at the back with wingbacks is the way to go I’m sure that’s what Collins and Romeo have been brought in for,

I’d be worried going into the season with a back 4 of

Romeo
Ng
Mcguiness
Collins

A back 5 of

Romeo
Ng
Nelson
Mcguiness
Collins

Looks a lot better with that experience nelson brings

Nelson for NG and a positional swap for Sawyers and Rhinomota and that would be mine too. I’m sure that a striker will be taking Colwills position too. Interesting that neither of us had enough confidence in our current strikers to pick any of them

Actually, I’m thinking maybe of also putting Rhinomota instead of o’dowda (AR can play wide) and Adams in midfield). Flood the midfield with energy as it is Norwich after all.

I can certainly see us playing a back four and a back five depending on who we are playing. A lot of depth in the midfield now and he has brought in out and out wingers so I would be surprised if he started with a back five.

You could bring Nelson in for NG but I’d get rid of Nelson asap in my personal opinion, too many mistakes and we looked a much better team without him. NG lacks the physicality but that just highlights the need for a new centre back or two.

I’d love Watters to come good and I don’t think he’s been given many fair chances since he’s been here. Hopefully he starts pre season well and he makes the spot his own. Jury is very much still out though. Colwill seems the best option at the moment, especially as we are blessed with midfield options and can’t see him getting in there ahead of others as things stand.

I'm glad you lot aren't the manager! Haha I'll give my attempt though and you can rip mine apart..

Ng works as a CB in a back 3 but I can't see him in a 2, Nelson would be much better surely.

Rinomhota is not a winger clearly he is defensive minded and will be in the middle.

Romeo is a wing back brought in for pace when playing 532, as a back 4 NG would be better imo

So imagining something like 433/451
--------------------Allsop----------
Ng Nelson McGuiness Collins
--Sawyers rinomhota ralls--
Winger -------striker------- o'dowda

532
--------------------Allsop-------------
-------Ng Nelson McGuiness------
Romeo---Rinomhota----ralls--------Collins
------------------sawyers-------------
--------------striker--------striker
