Not a fan of this!

Badges are seemingly becoming very minimalistic which isn't always a good thing.
Give me classic designs any day

You say that are becoming minimalistic now but it's nothing new. In the 60's we had a circle with a bluebird on it and another we had was simply the word Bluebirds embroidered on the shirt.
Trends come and go.

Without knowing what it was previously its hard to comment.
Wish they'd simplify ours - by getting rid of the red earwig.
