I must say, I'm deflated about this one. I liked Watters and thought he deserved more of a chance.

Looks quick, and made intelligent runs, and his record speaks for itself, although at a lower level. I certainly rate him above Collins and Harris.

Good luck Max, I hope this one doesn't turn to bite us on our arse :bluescarf:

I prefer him to the other 2 that you mention but hopefully this frees up some ££ for a striker that we desperately need.

I really hope this is not true. He’s definitely the number one striker in our current squad. Although there’ll be someone better coming in he definitely deserves a chance over Harris and Collins. As said above his movement looks brilliant, and he’s still very raw. Of the similar ilk to Vardy and his career, not quite got the turn of pace Vardy has though.

Is this something to do with the alleged falling out with him and SM?

Re: Max Watters off to Lincoln

If he was any good he’d be off to a better club than Lincoln. Need better imo

Watters was made out to be a great striker by the local
Media once again, yet had No pedigree behind him, they even quoted a bizarre £1mill we paid until I tagged them in to the real
Price.

I think we will find this true as Morison knows Watters is not a Championship striker and needs to Offload a few of our strikers.
James Collins next and I would like to see Mark Harris go, but he’s cheap so we will keep him.

Watters and Collins to go will free up wages for two strikers.

Max Watters: aged 23

Cardiff City: 11 Appearances 1 goal
MK Dons: 14 Appearances 4 goals

Cardiff City confirm signing of Max Watters from Crawley in £1m deal after striker impressed one season in League Two:

Price was £100,000 with add ons total £250,000, but those add ons never materialised.

100% agree, not Championship material and well hyped up by the media.

Nice lad and good luck to him.

Who was the last player to sign for us from a lower league club and do well for us and move on to better things?? Answers on a postage stamp.
Not a champ striker in a million years but I don't think any of the current strikers are tbh but we go with what's there eitherway :bluescarf:

Before getting too carried away by this , it’s a rumour from the Twitter account mentioned above. So take with a pinch of salt

I liked Watters, and would have preferred to keep him over Harris and Collins. Not too worried though as we will obviously be getting a striker or two in

Harris, Collins and Davies are the only strikers at the club!

Not good enough!!

We need x2 strikers in minimum if we are to have any impact in the league this year

Transfer window open , premier teams won't release loan players until they have new squad members

How people can say he’s not good enough for Championship level I don’t particularly understand. He’s played 11 games with 1 goal at our level of which a few are substitute appearances. Whilst I am of the opposite opinion and I think he is good enough, you can certainly argue the same for my opinion. But if the season started tomorrow he’s our best option by a country mile, and he’s still so raw and has potential as he’s scored at every other club.

Well if Steve Morison sells Watters then Morison must think the same.

Plus where are the Championship clubs wanting him?

We will find out but he clearly knows where the net is in Leagues 1 and 2. As I said, I thought his movement was intelligent, he has pace, and has proven he can score, I just felt we lacked the creativity in midfield to pick him out.

Of those 11 games, I think only 2 or 3 were starts too? I may be wrong.

I hope this doesn't come back to bite us on the arse, as I may be wrong, although, I have a feeling it may. Good luck to the lad though :ayatollah:

Can see what your point is, but there should be 2 others out the door before him which was my point. Morison way well rate him but has been told he needs to sell to bring in new players, and striker is a necessity. I hope this is just a rumour though as in my eyes he’s too good to let go.

100% agree the other two should out first.

From a team who went down from the same league as us we got a few div 2 and out of the league players signed this seasons so I'm expecting the same thing as Watters tbh but let's hope I'm wrong and there's a gem in there :bluescarf:

Surely we must be confident of getting in a couple of strikers in I bloody hope so as it is looking by far our weakest part of the team in what currently looks like a weak team overall

Re: ‘ Max Watters leaving on permanent Deal ‘

Sun Jun 26, 2022 1:44 pm

Very disappointed. Harris and Collins should be gone before him. Plus side is, we should have be getting a striker in sharpish.

I didn’t like how he threw his toys when Morrison subbed him. He also liked the Swansea City tweet after the 4-0 loss. I won’t miss him

Re: ‘ Max Watters leaving on permanent Deal ‘

It's quite obvious that the manager is clearing the decks to make way for strikers he believes are a cut above those that we currently have. He has been quite meticulous so far, filling gaps that needed filling and I've no doubt this will continue unabated until the final pieces of the jigsaw are in place.

Fully agree, I used to want watters to do well but on the lowest day for us as fans he was liking the Swansea managers post and that was it, cheerio don't let the door hit you on the way out
