We're delighted to announce that Joe Ralls has penned a two-year contract with Cardiff City Football Club.

The midfielder’s new agreement will run until the summer of 2024.

Our number 8 is one of only three City players this century to make over 300 appearances for the Bluebirds. He is currently 19th in our all-time appearance list, having played 308 times. Joe’s Cardiff City journey began over a decade ago and we're extremely excited that Rallsy will continue to be such an important part of our Club going forward.

Speaking at Cardiff City Stadium after signing his new deal, Joe said: "It's an amazing feeling. I've loved my time here so far.

“We're going into a new era, with new players, and it is something I'm really excited about. I'm looking forward to getting my head down now and focussing on having a good season with Cardiff City.”

City boss Steve Morison added: “This is huge for us. We wanted Joe with us as he is a key player. He knows what it means to play for this Club and he’s been brilliant during his time here.

“We need people like Joe in the dressing room. He is a Club legend.

“We’re really pleased that this deal has happened.”

The least exciting signing so far for me. Don’t think he fits in to be honest but let’s hope he proves me wrong.

This is an interesting one and I'm now in two minds on Joe Ralls re-signing, as I was thinking he was moving on

However, we have a strong, dynamic squad next season and he will neex to up his game. If he does, he could be a class act and help prooel us up the table

It’s sometimes difficult to work out what Ralls does, except that the team seems to play better when he is playing

We always play better with Joe, Mr Dependable and its experience we need. I think his game has improved with the new signings around him last season and I hope this continues.

Me too Rog. I was watching the training video on YouTube and NG was asked who’d impressed him with their skills, straight away he replied ‘Ollie’.

Really happy with this we always look better with him in the team.

Happy with this as he’s one of only two players I was happy to keep from the out of contract guys.
I think he’ll play better now we’re away from this hoof ball stuff.

Rog, he could have gone to Spurs in Jan and didn’t because he wants to play football.

Most of the others are of the same ilk and I’m expecting us to be a surprise this season.

As you know a few more incoming it’s going to be an exciting window for once.

Glad he signed we need him, before all the midfield was similar to Joe, hard for anyone to stand out. Now we have different options he will be needed and should show his quality again

For someone who has minimal connections to the club other than being from the city.

Let’s recognise that joe has resigned for a club he has been with his entire professional career. Is still in his 20s and has taken a pay cut to stay here.
He gets flak but always puts in a shift and has been a go to guy for many a manager as each has come and gone. Top guy and clearly committed to this club.

Just a thought but could he have signed because GB wasnt coming bit of coincidence he as waited so long to sign when only thing that's changed is GB wont be here? Afterall his place would be in doubt otherwise..
