Swansea’s Obsession with Cardiff Continues: Swans aim dig

Swans aim dig

It's been a busy week for Swansea off the pitch, launching two new kits ahead of the next season.

On Thursday it was the home version, which had mixed reviews mainly over the collar, but Friday's launch of the retro-inspired away strip has been universally hailed.

The orange, blue and white design is a firm nod to the Swans’ cult away kit used between 1993 and 1995. In the promotional shots for the launch, a subtle poke in the ribs is aimed at rivals Cardiff City, with the dates and scorelines of the two South Wales derbies firmly in shot.

In the corner of all five promotional shots you can see "3.0.17.10.21.0.4.2.4.22." An eagle-eyed fan spotted the detail on Twitter.

Two things Annis, the home kit is not a football top but that collar makes it look like a polo top, and the away kit, nice of them to add a partial union jack on the sleeves :laughing5: :laughing5: :laughing5:

Obviously there will always be a little bit of banter back, but I think we care less and less every season about what they say and do, it does mean more to them even the club itself wants to get invloved in it, they are out on a limb and have no other rivals.

Fan banter is one thing and is to be expected.

When a club gets involved, and puts its name to try and either make fun of or ridicule another club, then it looks very tacky and unprofessional.

Their unprofessional standing as a club in terms of rivalry dates back to Struel, and most of their chairman since including Sharpe, and Huw Jenkins

Totally agree, club directors and owners and the executives running the club should be able to rise above it!

Agree; but they play to their audience, which paints a pretty abstract picture down west... ;)

Just confirms that we are the bigger club - and soon their good run against us will end....

We are their FA cup final. Always have been. From the boardroom to the fan in that tin pot stadium.

Consider their actions against those of Cardiff City. When Swans backs were against the wall, I remember clearly collections at our games which helped support them.

Sam also paid for Swansea fans coaches to come to Ninian in a Welsh Cup tie, whilst also giving them free entry to the game.

Theres the difference in attitude between a Capitol City club and ifs jealous, envious, smaller neighbour

Totally agree. Short memories. Second City inferiority complex…big time!
