A decent first choice striker is obviously gonna cost.

If it turn out free or released then I would assume (hope) they are backup.

I wouldn't mind this happening

I'm sure we were linked with him a few years ago. Perhaps Warnock?

I get the impression that, if he comes he will want to be played as he will for Wales.

His potential transfer may dictate how we play up to the World Cup. I know he is GB but Morison needs free reign.

Agree about free reign morison....GB for wales he as a free role but generally operates from midfield.... if signs ge is going to be a pain for opposition as could see at times he walks around players so a good striker is essential or a quick one who runs the lines behind defenders to take advantage of GB and his passing skills.

He can cause havoc with a free role, up front he would see far less of the ball and would be far easer to mark.

Anyone know when loan players will know if and when they will be released by their clubs?

Upto a point he'll be easier to mark but need more than one player that will leave space for others you would think.. but it's a conundrum that may not happen as he's not here yet!

Will be a while yet.

Managers will want to assess their players on pre-season tours.

Pre-season hasn't even started yet.

I would expect most to be done in August, once the season has started.

Had a decent season last season.

League 2 top scorer 21/22
League 2 Player of the month for October and November
League 2 Team of the Season

Not saying he'd be the answer for us but not a bad collection of honours for him last year!

If you wait till he's had a few good seasons you'll have to pay good money. No big financial loss if it doesn't pan out.Besides we got the likes of NG from league 2 and he took to it like a duck to water and as the gaffer was a striker in his time he'll know what to look for.

The point I was trying to make is that throughout his career he has a very poor scoring record!

Was only saying hes available and we were looking for striker? True been down this route several times and not worked out but tbh I put that down to buying forwards that didnt fit into our style of play ? We are changing that dramatically so maybe hes worth a punt at little cost.... 25 goals is not bad by any standards

Not saying its him or that he's good enough but rumours are starting that we enquired about him a few weeks ago, hopefully not!

Made a mistake i thought he was a striker, but he is a nidfielder?, so great return for a midfielder

Roger 25 goals div 2 top scorer not bad.... but to compare him with other such signings past 3 or 4 yrs is in reality completely wrong as we will not be playing same way again .... so he will possibly have a better chance to succeed and be a good signing if he comes.
