The 21-year-old defender will join the Bluebirds as free transfer on a three-year deal from July 1st, 2022,was released by the Foxes last week after making 0 appearances for them in the Premier League.

Daley-Campbell started his youth career with Arsenal, before joining Leicester City in 2019. Vontae joined the first team squad before a loan spell with Dundee in the Scottish Premiership during the second half of the 2021/22 season, playing nine times.

He is the sixth new player to agree terms with Cardiff City ahead of the 2022/23 season, with Ebou Adams, Jak Alnwick, Ollie Tanner, Jamilu Collins and Callum O'Dowda earlier this summer putting pen-to-paper on agreements with the Club.


Daley-Campbell made 0 appearances for Leicester City, but went on loan and made 6 appearances for Dundee who were relegated last season from the Scottish Premiership League finishing bottom.

My view on Vontae Daley-Campbell.

A gamble but an extremely low risk gamble.

He was only on £2.3k at Leicester and released last week so is free - so it is likely to be a very economical signing.

Quick and strong and an excellent pedigree with Arsenal, Leicester and England U19's.

A decent loan spell in Scotland. Although an awful red card!

Another ambitious player looking to make a name for himself.

Over to him and the coaches to bring him through!

My friend is cardiff fan but lives in Dundee now and watches them .he says

" Cracking little right back, raw but has bags of potential. he's quick, direct, reads game well and can cross, with right guidance should do well. Was one of very few positives to come out of dundees season"

Agreed, I don't think you can rule Drameh out yet. If he doesn't get assurances from Leeds on game time then he'll be off and we then throw our hat in the ring.

What we all have to remember is that in this window we will have to sign back-up and squad players as well as first choice due to the numbers of players leaving.

I still think that the main quality players (probably loans from Prem) may well be the last pieces of the jigsaw. So far I think Alnwick and Adams are the only automatic first teamers (possibly Tanner too) so watch this space ...................

Of course, if Bale signs that may speed things up as we become a much more attractive proposition for Prem clubs looking to develop youngsters.

It's another young, hungry player.

Also worth pointing out that he could be seen as a squad player initially, so doesn't rule out the chance of Drameh returning.

Loans from Premier League clubs aren't likely to be done until from mid July up to the end of August. This is after the Premier League clubs have had time to assess their players on pre-season tours.



But it's another signing and good to see us make six before pre-season has even begun.

This will be 100% Morison's team and he will live or die depending on how we do.

Just watched his red card. Surprised he wasn't charged for assault! He was about half an hour late booting their player into another stratosphere!

The rest of your write up sounds promising though. I'm loving Morison's criteria when looking at players, focussing on pace, power, energy and athleticism.
