Jordan's scathing attack on Bale
Simon Jordan has labelled Gareth Bale a 'busted flush', and says he's unconvinced the Wales superstar is still capable of having a positive impact in the Premier League.
Bale is a free agent after leaving Real Madrid earlier this summer, with hometown club Cardiff City believed to be a potential option.
However, there is still a chance the 32-year-old could yet return to the Premier League, although Jordan, who used to own Premier League side Crystal Palace, clearly isn't convinced the Wales captain can still have an impact in the top flight
"His season at Tottenham [on loan] was poor," he told the talkSport YouTube channel "You can make the case that he scored some goals and actually his goals per game ratio was moderately high.
"But if you look at the games he scored goals in, they weren't against that compelling an opposition."
"If I was at Palace, first of all his agent Jonathan Barnett is not someone I'm particularly fond of, so that conversation would have been difficult.
"Secondly, I think Gareth Bale is a busted flush. I think you'll get a very limited amount of games out of him. It's like a boxer. The last thing to go is their punch. With Gareth Bale, you'll get individual moments of brilliance.
"But in the Premier League, you need more than that.
"If I was doing him on a pay-and-play deal and he wasn't polluting my dressing room with nonsense about what he may or may not have once earned and what he may or may not have once done, then possibly.
"But I don't think so. I don't think it's a fit that I would have been particularly comfortable with.
"It's got a sort of Hollywood feel about it, but not with an A-lister.
"He's an A-lister on paper, but a B-lister on performance."

Simon Jordan earning his pay again. Trouble is Bale is a long way off match fitness and needs a good pre-season and games after that. Simon Jordan has never had to deal with superstar players and on this evidence will never have the smarts.

The guy is an idiot. Bale had a good goals to games ratio but only scored against poor opposition? You mean like CP level of opposition? Someone needs to stop eating those sour grapes he was given.
Sounds like someone who was laughed at when he enquired about Bale.

Last time opened his mouth regarding us he said he prefers to live in Swansea than cardiff! Trouble is he thinks people listen to him

You can only laugh. We've seen his match-winning ability for Wales throughout the World Cup qualifiers. And thats a Gareth Bale who isnt even close to match fitness.

I thought it was us Welsh who had a chip on our shoulder about the English, not the other way round.

I like Simon Jordan and (not ever going to be the case) I'd have him in charge of our club
His views are 'different' and often enlightening on talkSPORT but we need to remember he is out for effect and to draw people out; and it works
I think his words need to be taken into context and overreaction just plays into his hands
Gareth Bale, once the world's record transfer, has nothing to prove to Simon Jordan, only to himself; and if that is where he is lived in his home city, the welcome he will get will drown out the ramblings of a radio celebrity

It’s talkshite radio so anything said needs to be taken with a huge pinch of salt. As for a busted flush well Simon Jordan understands exactly what that looks like as the end of his tenure at Crystal Palace demonstrates.

He's a poor man's Piers Morgan.

Love listening to Simon Jordan myself. Much better on the radio than most of the others.

Simon Jordan has a point on Bale he always makes sense to me i think he pretty fair in his criticism of all players on lots on money.
Hopefully Bale will get match fit before world cup he certainly isnt now.

They're on TalkSport to be controversial, stopped acknowledging that station/website years ago.
Not sure they even believe what they say most of the time.

I do too, he's partly right, Bale is nothing like the player he once was and thats why I think he will come here rather than the premier League. He's still good enough to help transform this club and help Wales get out of the groups, if he comes here he will be a legend, if he's not alrady in most peoples eyes !

Clickbait moment, however stripping the emotional connection we have to Bale he's probably got a point .
If this was someone like Giggs he was talking about lots would agree .

Problem with his statement is GB as had little game time prior to playing for wales and we all know that players need game time to be consistent performers but only 25mins game time before joining wales and what does he provide inspiration and magic to Wales ... or do people think at 32 hes lost his talent "speed" yes talent never for that reason hes wrong on his assessment of him

Not really on either point; Giggs was deliberate in his actions, whilst Bale plays every time he can
Clearly, injuries play their part for both but Bale was not as injured as some seem to think at Madrid; he was unsubtley and unceremoniously being forced out (or so they thought) by the Madrista club, media and supporters
