With the retained list out , I took a look at the team and considered what is being said about Morison , Tan , Bale etc…and came up with the following “interim assessment”.

I say interim because there is no way that the 19 retained players plus the 5 recently bought is where we’re going to rest . The real heavy business is yet to come ….starting with Bale and including the 7 or so players that Morison will buy/loan .

Of the present 24 players the experience comes in the form of Curtis Nelson , NG , James Collins and Gavin Whyte ….. the rest are in the main younger players. So as it stands we are not a strong team.

Steve Morison’s comfort zone is clearly with young players and with players who feel lucky to be playing for CCFC. These are the players he can boss ! …… but can he handle established players ? The jury is still out … and I must say that there has to be serious doubt there .

Remember his background is with youth and in the under 23 and he is only our manager because he is cheap and Tan can order him about ….. but the guy has proved himself and I wish him all the best. My reliable information is that Bale very much wants to join us .

Let us not kid ourselves , if he does join…… forget about us CCFC as a club ….. we will become the Gareth Bale Circus Show.

Tan I heard is cock a hoop about getting Bale ….and for once he will become the small fry and Bale will become Mr Big …… but will the usually very jealous Tan accept it in the long run (remember his jealousy of TG and Malky) ? ?

This will be an exciting summer with hopefully Bale coming and the 7 or so Morison loans and buys.

We will make five loan signings later in the window, after preseason tours and when Premier League clubs have an idea where they want to loan players out.

We have a good relationship with some clubs already when it comes to loaning players. Manchester City and Leeds were very pleased with how Morison treated Doyle and Drameh.

There will be more permanent signings as well obviously.

It's going to be practically a completely new team and a totally different style.

It may take a few weeks for the players to gel once the new season starts so I hope fans are patient over the first five or six games.

I'm excited by this new era, this will be the style under future managers if this goes well. It's much needed and long overdue so fair play to Morison for having the guts to change things.

Disappointing slight on the gaffer again. And there's a surprise another dig at Tan.

Slightly confused about what you've said here about Bale, firstly you say we won't be CCFC anymore but the Gareth Bale circus show (bad) and then you say it will be an exciting summer with Bale hopefully coming (good). Which is it? Good or bad? Are you for it or against it?
I'll be over the moon if he does come here as it will raise the clubs' profile no end and help to get some other players loans or not over the line.

I'm not buying the big fry thing with tan and Bale. Simply fact is that we got Bellamy in on similar requests as to what Bale wants.
I personally feel tan has very little involvement these days. Gives a budget and carry on.

I think the retain list is good and glad that the players that got released are now gone.
The other 2 players i would release are Collins and Vassell since they are poor players.

The manager Steve Morison said a while back that there would be a few surprises on the retain list and yet there are none.
So glad the youngsters stayed on because they could be vital for the upcoming season the likes of Colwill Harris and Davies.
Kind of wished Cieron Brown stayed for back up in defence.

I don't think Tan has ever really seen himself as a "Mr Big" to be honest. He was the owner who had a fall out with TG (could be for any reason) and with Malky he was ultimately proved right which was a shame as I liked Malky but those texts and the accusations from some of the younger players were never going to end well for him.
I think IF Bale joins then Tan would love it as it takes our club to pretty much worldwide news even if its just for the story, but it would be a massive exposure and could really make a difference in attracting new players.
As for Morison, yeah his experience is with youth for now but he also has 7 months or so of senior experience plus a whole career of being around senior players....I am sure he will cope. Aren't we all inexperienced when we start most new jobs? Time will tell but he has done well so far.
I am definitely looking forward to the first home game of the season to see the new team, it's an exciting time so I hope fans are patient as it's going to take a few weeks to gel.

For someone who constantly says he supports Cardiff City through thick and thin, that is the most anti Cardiff support post of the season. in my opinion

We need at least another 7 players, with at least 4 or so having good Championship experience and a sprinkle of good Premier loans.

Get Bale aswell, and I'm quietly confident about next year.

The squad as is will change without doubt, but as the squad is right now it is frighteningly bad.

Signing Bale could increase our chances of a takeover

Pretty much how I feel too. Quietly confident that good business will continue. Seem to have ticked the 'for the future' (gambles) box. We've started with the experience box now. PL loans will come last and SM pulled a blinder in January with them.

Yep, the quality will, in the main, come from loans and they won’t be done until the Prem clubs have done their business (July/Aug).

Bale is just a bonus if/when it happens. Throw in Ramsey and that’s a transfer window to die for !!!! Plus we got rid of Bacuna and Murphy!!!!!!

One thing City fans are not, is patient. Seems there are plenty people on here who already just waiting for Morison and signings to fail.
