EFL Clubs will be allowed to name up to seven substitutes and make five substitutions in Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two matches from the 2022/23 season.
Last season, clubs were able to make a maximum of three substitutions from the seven players named on the substitutes bench, but, following Friday's EFL Annual General Meeting (AGM), this number has now risen to five from seven, with immediate effect.
Each Club is only permitted a maximum of three opportunities to make substitutions during the fixture, plus an opportunity at half time, and a Club may make more than the one substitution at each of these opportunities.

I don't like this rule. Reduces the importance of stamina as an attribute

Helps the bigger teams and bigger squads too !
On the positive side it can help teams attack for the lst twenty minutes they could bring on five attacking players and really go for it!

Yes it does.
Bringing on 5 subs of high quality for Man City and Liverpool is a massive advantage and will allow them to sign/keep the better players as they will get more game time. I would expect it to result in the top teams scoring a lot of goals in the last 30 mins of games from now on.
I'm not in favour but it may allow teams playing with higher intensity/pace to maintain that through the 90 mins. Might work for us as Morison seems to be setting us up to play in that way looking at what he's signed/let go of so far.
