‘ Latest on Gareth Bale ‘

Thu Jun 09, 2022 1:28 pm

This week nothing at all has happened regarding meetings bewteen Dalman etc who has not met the agent or Bale this week.

I know Gareth Bales agent has already turned down numerous clubs and has 100% not ruled out Cardiff City and City are Bales first choice.

So over to the Cardiff Regime / Committee as towards the end of next week meetings will be held and give in to all Bales demands / requirements, as none of them are about wages :thumbright:

I know everyone to a man (or woman) wants GB to come to Cardiff but is there a demand that would have you saying, No, we should not sign him?

I know people have said the demands are not excessive but surely there are things that wouldn't be allowed. They always say no man is bigger than the team.

No man is bigger than the team but now and then you have to bend the rules.

Agree with both sentiments, surely this is an open goal though, even if only in the short term. We can but wonder what the pull of potentially playing with GB, would have in the transfer / loan market.

Very true, his signature may be the tipping point that draws Ramsey back as well.

None that he would reasonably ask for.

If he said he wanted a say in transfers in and out and to be involved in tactics and management I’d be concerned. But I’ve got no concerns him or his agent would ask anything like that.

We signed Bellamy on similar requirements.... Shall we say.

So it's hard to see it not being agreed.

Got to look at the bigger picture. Look at the media reaction and interest it will cause. Creating world wide publicity for Cardiff City. Think of the televised games that will bring in money. The sponsors that will be hovering around wanting to do a deal. The season ticket and merchandise sales. The players that would choose Cardiff over another team to get the chance to play with Bale. This is a lot bigger than just Bale playing for the team. I say we give in to any demand he wants. :ayatollah:

Bale is 100% coming here barring any major cock-ups in his meeting with the board.

Ramsey less certain. Don’t know anything concrete other than we’re an option but one would assume that he picks a decent PL club over us. Comes here over relegation battle though IMO

They are the two I was thinking about. Recruitment and Team Selection.

If he is dictating game time then that is just like any player saying they have a niggle or are not up to pace. Just hope it doesn't affect tactics.

Wonder if he would become more worried about playing the closer we get to Qatar?

If the politician blows this he wants to have a serious look at himself unless it's in their plan to sell us then having Bale here would help.
Then again he will blame someone else I suppose.

Not going to name names at this point (get back to me when it’s done lol) but first got told pretty concrete news a few weeks ago and then out of the blue had the same news repeated to me from a different person adjacent to the club during the wales game on Sunday

Fair enough, wouldn't expect you to name names.

And it wouod surely be accepted by those around him in the squad, too?

Yes he'll pick good premier club over us undoubtedly but as of yet no apparent interest in him from said clubs even though it's been known for awhile he will be available this season or as there been interest?

I would assume any interest would try and remain quiet until Juve pay off his contract.

If there is an inkling of interest Juve may call his bluff in order to get him to walk or someone to pay a bit of cash.

We all have our own theories about what might happen, but one of the more sensible guesses is that he will sign for an MLS team from next Spring, but come to us until then, albeit on a type of Pay as you Play. But who knows.

That was nonsense from the Getafe owner. Told a cheeky lie the same day the new kits were released, no doubt a lot more exposure for the club than they’d usually get.

If the Bale deal doesnt come off, I think it would be fair to make an assumption that the Regime at Cardiff City allowed it not to happen.

Then will come the spin from Dalman as to why this and why that.

Indeed it IS MOST DEFINATELY over to the club to conclude the biggest AND most unpredictable deal that Welsh football and possibly British football has ever known.

Mess this one up, and itll be a step too far even for the most staunch of Tan supporters. Strike the deal, and Ill applaud those who made it happen, whether this will be Tan or the potential new ownership.

That's s fair bit of finger pointing based upon the failure of a signing that is still just heavy rumour.

If the club came out and said we were in talks and it then failed I would agree but not based on what we know at the moment.

Fair statement....

there are a couple of old saying s that apply here

Slowly slowly catchy monkey and

He who swings the sword never wears the crown

There is no pressure on us if we dont sign what was once rated one of the best players in Europe, if Dalman and Morison etc all start making statements and answering hypothectical questions - it is never a good luck and makes us look like a school kid whose just sniffed the barmaids apron.

Great if it happens and fantastic for the kids and parents who will then by season tickets and same old city if nothing happens.

You really are an idiot aren’t you !!

So what if Bale says “I’ll come but I’ll train once a week, play one in three games and want to start every game available to me” ? If Morison/Tan say “no” is that a bad decision?

Now, don’t get me wrong I don’t think Bale would do that sort of thing but there will be conditions attached to one of the best players in the world playing for a club like ours.

We just need to ensure it’s the best deal for everyone.

If it doesn’t come off we’ll probably never know why exactly so how can someone like you be so sure it’s all down to the club ?

Just think before you post sometimes.
