Callum O'Dowda signs on a free from Bristol City:

Callum O’Dowda:

“I’m delighted. It’s been a long process, from meeting the gaffer and going around the training ground, to actually putting pen to paper," the Irishman said.

“The intent and the passion the manager showed, and also the business that the club has been doing in the transfer window, was something that I want to be part of.”

“I’m at a stage in my career where I’m hungry, I want to achieve as much as I can, and I feel as though I could be hitting my prime now. So, it’s all about kicking on with the right team, the right manager and a fantastic club."

After 4 encouraging signings we now go backwards signing a Wurzel reject. Seen him play and he’s so average. Not excited one bit about this announcement. Seen him play twice and he’s mr average.

3 times you posted the same post I have deleted two of them, I was very tempted to delete the third one as it being so negative. Give the guy a chance will you, I would rather believe Morison knows what he is doing, than a message board poster like yourself!

So your letting the person have an opinion then? Which by the way I agree with poor signing

Not your job igovernor to reject other people's reasonably held opinions for good or bad.
I agree not a good start another wurzel reject who didn't really want to come here was looking at other options etc. Can we for say 2 season's have a transfer embargo on wurzels. I've often thought we sign so many so they don't have to move house which is hardly the basis of a sound transfer policy!

Re: Callum O’Dowda:

Also when will we ever learn. We've got what we deserved with injury prone players over the last few years as they were all really injury prone when we signed them. Here s another, I just don't understand it why take the risk?

Re: Callum O’Dowda:

Every time O’Dowda has played against us he has looked a very skilful and dangerous player. It seems he has had a lot of injuries at Wurzels FC in the last couple of seasons and if these are now sorted I expect him to do very well for us.

Reports are that he had 7 clubs in for him and it would not surprise me in the least if that were true.

It seems to me our signings so far have been excellent and I am looking forward to watching a far more aggressive, mobile and attacking team.

How do you know he really didn't want to come here. Having an opinion is one thing but having an opinion based on internet BS is another and deserves ridicule. For me Morison has been almost faultless in the transfer market so far and thats based on what I've seen and not hearsay.

O’Dowdas goals and assists record over 6 years for Bristol and his injury record is enough proof for me to say that we should have kept clear of him.

Either your Morrison’s puppet or the god of deciding what fans are allowed to say! Get yourself out of your backside and respect other people’s opinions . Your not Cardiff City’s oracle!

I did not decide what you are allowed to say as your post is still for all to see. And if you are getting personal and tell me again to get out of my backside, then there will be consequences. It seems to me that a lot of new negative posters around today have very little posts, strange that? Remind me, what was you previous username!

Consequences? What you going to do? Press exit on your keyboard? Whether someone posts once a yr or 10 times a day is irrelevant.Who cares! This is not a propaganda site. Every opinion counts and it’s not for you to decide what others say! Disagree yes, but never tell me how I should think or act! I spend over a grand a season down the City and I can say whatever I feel about anything that happens at Cardiff City.

I think you miss the point; the same comment was posted three times so two of them were (rightly) removed but the original left in place...

The comment about negativity was as valid as the comment that was left in place, i.e. not removed, so the (quote) "reasonable held opinion..." remained ;)

You must have missed the game he scored against us and gave us the run around then?

On a free, this is a low risk signing for a proven Championship player. He's high energy, good on the ball and versatile, he can play on the wing or in the middle.

I bet some of you would still find a way to moan if Bale signs.

Ross, the guy feeds off his negativity and, it seems, anger!

I find it surprising that one who claims to have supported the Bluebirds for 40+ years, he seemingly thinks these are the worse of times...!

Oh my word, everyone has a right to an opinion but bloody hell, give Callum a chance ffs. Some are going on about his goals but he’s NOT a striker, get a grip and give him a chance, he may surprise you.
I got a feeling he is going to hit the ground running. He has my support 100% :ayatollah:

Like all players signing for the City we have to give them a chance , he does have a nice left foot.

This isn't about whether he's good bad or indifferent. He might be brilliant but in view of all the injury prone crocks we've suffered over the last three years why take the risk? And why give him a 3 year contract. We want players that can play 40 games a season not less than 20. This is why those two fools Dalman and Choo are messing it up. Surely everyone on this board would say to the manager is we are willing to look at any players you consider but we want people who can play a full season not a record of half a one, it's pretty obvious really!

If I've read the bumph on him correctly he started 16 games and 3 as sub last year... none missed through injuries.. according to market value website. Sure someone got better facts to correct this? :o

Re: Callum O’Dowda:

Firstly good luck to the lad!

However, this is a worrying signing for me. Bristol didn't want him, their fans didn't want him. This is not a signing of a team pushing to get in the playoffs.

Hopefully a squad player, but we've just offloaded average players and now....

Can you imagine next year if Bale does sign (unlikely), we await with great anticipation the team announcement Bale or O'Dowda...

OT - anyone else getting annoying pop ups on this site now.
