Elis James: Football Nation

Sun Jun 05, 2022 2:32 pm

Just watched the four episodes back to back. It left me a blubbering wreck.

Not sure my emotions will survive the game.

But here we go, back later.

COME ON WALES.

The long serving fans of the Bluebirds have known this for at least 50 years. It's only the Welsh and English media who won't accept it.

The truth is the truth and we have always been a football nation, now that we are going to the world cup the media will have to change their blockable stance and state that football is most definitely the Number One sport in Wales. :bluebird:

The timing is great, football in the ascendancy on the pitch, and the rugby in big decline, they'll have to accept it :bluebird: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

I also watched it, and it strikes me that Wales football has totally re-invented itself into an up to date organisation which is now fit for purpose.
The FAW has not always operated in the best interests of Welsh Football and was a rag tag organisation, which at best could be described as a total shambles, but over the last ten years it has started to get its act together and its actually making a difference for the better of Welsh football. The new guy in charge (Noel Mooney) seams to want to take to the next level where the grassroots of football in Wales are risen to a much higher standard, to produce the next generations of Gareth Bales and Arron Ramsey. The future is looking even brighter we stand today, that is the true statement that we are a football nation, Can the egg say that at this point in time, I think not.

Well Done FAW

Yes. Indeed. Very impressed with this new guy. The relationship he's developed with the fans is second to none.

Two examples. The banner they all sat behind post game, thank you to the red wall. Not the players, not some pompous sponsor message... a thank you to us.

Secondly, a video on Facebook. Mooney speaking to all behind scenes staff. Thanking them for their efforts.

We really are all in this together.

I'm not anti Rugby, I quite like the sport, but there's such a difference in how both organisations are run!
