‘ Another Cardiff player goes out ‘

Fri Jun 03, 2022 5:15 pm

My View: Another one Not Championship material.

All the very best to City forward @ChankaZimba, who will spend the 2022/23 season on loan with league 2 @NewportCounty.

Zimba was one of Cardiff future stars and joins another 2 Cardiff players at League 2 Newport County.

Chanda Zimba who is 21 years old this year and made one appearance for the Bluebirds.

Spent the end of last season on loan at League Northampton.

Zimba was pushed in the first team squad along with a dozen other players, but manager Steve Morison was more than critical of the striker.

Good for him - he'll be getting regular game time in a tough league, will come back a better player hopefully

We made out they were all world beaters thanks to Glen Williams and Dalman and we were on our way down.

Reality and honesty.

I wish the lad well

He played his only game at Preston and he was gobbled up by their defence. Very much like how Isaac Davies gets gobbled up.

These youngsters we were all told about were not that good.

Vardy was 25 when he, signed for Leicester. We have to be careful we don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Ian,

Dalman and Glen Williams made out they were like future superstars, you don’t get about 12 in one go. It was all about saving money and they were very cheap. But it nearly cost us Championship status. Morison to be fair dropped the majors and was honest, the step up was to big.

Absolutely shameful decision by the Regime.

We all want our kids to do well, I want it beyond , but out of say 12 your lucky if 1-3 players make it.
They were all thrown in.

Yes you get one in a few thousand, but you don’t get 12 out of 12 and cost us the Championship, they were not put in on ability, it about how cheap they were.

It’s already proven, many have gone and to lower leagues and even non league.

We have gone so many years without real talent coming through our academy Colwill is really the only one so far i think has something going for him but still needs to do a lot more If you are not knocking on a regular start before the age of 20 like Ramsey , Ledley , Gunter then you are more than likely just going to be a very average player Yes people will mention a few players that go against this assumption However in the 50 plus years i have watched and played football I don’t think i could name more than 15 examples in the whole of modern British football
