BORIS & THE NEXT PANDEMIC TOTAL BEDLUM

There would be total bedlum if we have another pandemic 2 fingers would be going up everywhere to any lockdown rules after boris not resigning and the met police not sorting this episode.

We shouldn't of lockdown during the covid pandemic, he should of shielded the vulnerable and gone for herd immunity from the start! The rapid inflation world wide is due to this failure

That maybe so
but could you see many sticking to any rules next time around after the politicians toffs breaking the rules and the police been selective who they fine if there was a party in a house on an council estate do you think they would only fine 1 person out of 30 that where there!

The real point in all of the 'Partygate' bollocks is totally - and deliberately- ignored by all the media/talking heads.

The fact that the woman writing the rules/regulations (name forgotten) and those carrying out the policy chose to gather on numerous occasions confirms they were not at all worried about infection etc.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if the risk of infection/death was real they would all be a million miles away from Downing St hiding in individual bunkers.

Same goes for Starmer and Co.

Lets not forget Prof. Fergusson and his shagging adventures at the height of all this and of course Hancock.

Nope, everyone will do exactly as they're told just like the first time.

Downing Street actions were evidence that lockdown was a nonsense driven by opposition parties, the media, and loopy kept scientists.

If normal healthy people were afraid of the flu, I can't imagine how they will react to potentially looking like a Zombie. Hopefully its just a bit of media fear porn, and nothing too serious comes from it.

I agree there would be bedlam if Boris was still in charge of another pandemic.

As for some of the other comments I can't agree with them

"Downing Street actions were evidence that lockdown was a nonsense driven by opposition parties, the media, and loopy kept scientists" - Really :o This was a government riding high in the polls with a huge parliamentary majority that enabled them to make the decisions THEY wanted to make, nobody else. It's really stretching credulity that Boris and his cronies would take any notice of an opposition that was still reeling from the Corbyn disaster and carried little power or even public opinion at the time.

The decisions the Tories made were theirs based, where it suited them, on science. Don't let them off the hook by looking to blame it on anyone else :banghead:

"boris should of stuck to his guns with herd immunity" - I can only presume that you didn't have the misfortune of losing somebody close to you for you to hold such a view. If this was a flu-like illness that view point would have more merit.

Unfortunately I lost a mate of 40+ years in May 2020. He was 50, healthy and fit (a keen cyclist). He went into hospital with a cough and never came out, dying 2 weeks later. Whilst Boris was partying he was dying and none of us mates were allowed to even go and say goodbye, only his wife and sister.

COVID was different to other illnesses and getting to the point of "herd immunity" would have devastated many families along the way.

That said, I would agree that a lot of suffering was caused by the government acting too slowly (not learning lessons of other countries ahead of us on the curve) and then, as a result of acting too slowly the regulations were unnecessarily lengthy and tough.

The Public Enquiry will be interesting but, unfortunately, even those findings will not alter the fact that Boris seems incapable of setting an example, making timely decisions or even empathising with those whose lifes will never be the same as a result of his incompetence

Correct, many experts argued this too and were shut down. Boris and our whole system should be brought down for bringing in these rules in the first place not for breaking them.

Not only did these rules bring in a mental health crisis, the ripple effect of them has crushed the economy and small businesses.

Government policies create cost of living crisis -> Government creates new policies to tackle cost of living crisis -> Government creates new cost of living crisis.

I don't know why anybody trusts these people, personally.

Most people broke the rules anyway, just to differing degrees, I bet not many people stuck to five miles for a start.

I lost my uncle to covid in the Royal gwent hospital in the 1st outbreaks march 2020 , he was the 23 person in Britain to lose his life of covid they basically let him die cause they only had 10 ventilation beds there but he was very ill and could of died of any other disease, he was seriously ill with diabetes.myself and my family still say they should of shielded the vulnerable and let the rest get on with .

I do agree, but I think people are pissed off just because they were the ones who set the rules. They obviously knew the risk was minimum, hence why they were out partying and hanging out together, but still closed down small business etc.

Its one thing for me and you to break the rules, its another for the Government to do it whilst telling us how scary the air is to breathe.
