Club Statement from FC Barcelona :
Due to economic reasons, the club will not be able to pay the weekly wages to the first team players for next three months. The club has a recorded debt of €1.35 billion as of 18-5-2022. We will be looking to let go some players in the summer transfer window in order to help the club to pay the wages on a regular basis from next season. The harsh decisions on transfers by the board will be taken due to financial reasons, we are fully determined to bring stability back to the club. We ask our supporters to place their trust in the club and be patient.

Debt is ok if you can service the interest payments but Barcelona can't service it and can't pay there staff, deep trouble they are in .

They need to sell every player who can command a fee - Man Utd would probably take De Jong for starts.
Barca have a good enough academy that they could probably still do half decently in La Liga with just those players.

Barca academy might be a good place to look for a couple of players ourselves.

Transfers like the Coutinho deal, buying for £142m and selling for a reported £20m hasn't helped. That makes the Cornelius deal look like good business for us.
To be honest I have no sympathy for big clubs and their crazy debts they are the ones who have splashed silly cash and driven up the prices of players.

But the rules don't seem to apply to these clubs. System should screw them... yet the system is built to keep them at the top.

Mbappè £150m signing on fee plus £20m+ a season wages.. PSG totally screwed the ffp their wage bill is hundreds millions per year losing vast amounts money yet no ffp infringement... la liga not happy with what's gone on and make complaint to UEFA.
