do you think youngsters should be given chance...

Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:15 pm

as the old guard like rae etc seemed to be putting us back not forward, there always risk with youngsters like javis wildig but they only going to learn if dave gives em a chance, my opinion i think he should could give us few more options?

i don't mean play them from start i mean bring them on to try make difference if we run out of options, i tink wildig is gonna be belter of player in time but only if he gets a chance

but then again can we afford two?

Depends who we are up against.

Against weaker opposition I would be tempted to mix experience with youth at the start of the game. Certainly felt we could have done that against Ipswich.

I believe DJ, Does not use enough of our youngsters and does Not help bring them through and give them a chance.

Annis , I Believe he does give the youngsters a chancem i.e adam matthews , blake , ramsey etc to name a few but i believe he doesn't know how to work with them bring them on , and to slate matthews to the press was a bad move , he should of just spoke to him in private!

So when he was asked about Matthews in the interview what should he have said?

I would like to see him use wildig ahead of Rae but other than that i don't see anyone worth a chance.

Should of said these things happen, and then speak to him behind closed doors!

Well he kind of did
DJ “It’s easy to blame the youngster for the goal. Yeah, Adam’s given it away, but we lost it in midfield. We let pressure come on to us, we made some silly decisions and there was a build-up to that."

He even admitted he has did it himself
DJ "“But you can’t legislate for where Adam’s headed it and I’ve done that myself in my career. It’s about how you bounce back."

Im alone on this but my fav trait of DJ is is honesty.

Fair enough mate, like I said im mainly alone on this subject but I also think its been blown out of all proportions. People are treating Matthews like he is a baby, he is 18 now, he made mistakes and he needs to stand up and be accounted for them like any other 18 year old would have to in a place of work.

But wouldnt it be better for the kid , to get behind him , if he was older than i would say carry on , but at his age he needs support , But i take your point on and understand what your saying . So we will have to agree to disagree on this one!!
