16 points clear of the bottom 3

Well done Morison could of been by more points but he's been playing and testing out different players and using the whole squad since we were confirmed safe , I'm genuinely excited to see who we bring in next season ,I think Morison will do well next year .

Totally agree Wez........let's see what happens, and as always, I'm optimistic.

I think Morison needs 2 windows to establish "his" team so let's support him for the whole of the season. We should have a rough idea of where we are after 12 games. :bluebird:

Morison sacrificed points for the need to find out if certain players would make it next season as fair few regulars would not be here next season... and in doing so it distorted the amount of points we won... or do people actually think we would still have lost all the games we did having a settled side and not experimental one? Its convenient to use stats without portraying the bigger picture of morison preparing for next season.

Give Reading and Derby their points back and we would have been going into the Birmingham game 3 points above the bottom 3. It could have been a different story. It is what it is, but I wanted to put it into perspective. I’m not trying to be negative. I’m just seeing it as it is.

Difficult to put perspective on things as morison would not be in position to experiment like he did if derby had not had points deduction.... so you would expect
city to have gained more points with settled experienced team.... so those 3 points could been 9 it's just pure conjecture as to what would have actually happened.

I'm sure Morison wouldn't of chopped and changed if that was the case .

People are ignoring fact that morison only messed with team because was safe.. no way would he have experimented with team knowing he needed more points ... very skewed ending to season

Putting it into perspective is the one thing you're not doing. You cannot ignore the points deductions from other teams as if they don't really count. All SM's strategies while trying to pull away from the relegation zone were made knowing exactly what was needed to do the job, especially earlier in his reign when we beat Derby, Barnsley and Peterborough, all crucial games. And has been said so many times, if during the last 8-10 games positive results had been required, no way would he have experimented with players and formations as much as he did. I would estimate at least 5 points have been forfeited during this experimental period.
