Steve Morison: “ Gareth Bale & Aaron Ramsey “

Morison responds to suggested Bale-Rambo swoop

Steve Morison has seemingly played down the prospect of a sensational double swoop for Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, after suggesting that the finances involved in bringing either player to the club would likely prove too much of a stretch for the Bluebirds and has been honest by saying someone find me £600k a week.

Bale is set to become a free agent once his current big-money deal at Real Madrid comes to an end, and has subsequently been linked with a move to his hometown club for the last few weeks. Indeed, chairman Mehmet Dalman last week said the Bluebirds would be "willing listeners" if the 32-year-old decided to come back to the capital.

Meanwhile, former Bluebird Ramsey is also set to be on the lookout for a new club this summer, amid the news that Scottish giants Rangers will not be pursuing a permanent deal. It's a situation that may well get the blades of the rumour mill turning, but Morison didn't exactly sound convinced.

STEVE MORISON:

"That would be good wouldn't it?" he said when asked about the possibility of landing both players. "Someone find me 600k a week to pay in wages for two players!"

Even when it was put to him that the duo might well be open to a significantly reduced pay packet in order to come back to Wales, Morison replied: "You touch base with them and see if that's doable! But it would be amazing."

If there is an interest, Is he going to say ‘yes we’re working on signing him / them’. He’s coming home :bluescarf:

Picture the scenario

Sat May 07, 2022 2:18 pm

Picture the scenario , Bake and Ramsey are about to start their first game in a Cardiff Shirt together - and Morison is trying to gibe the team talk .... I cant see it myself. Both players are bigger than the manager. After having played for some of the biggest teams / managers in the world - it would be hard for them to take orders from Steve Morison on tactics - in my opinion anyway.

Great if they did sign - but more a story made up by Dalman / Chew to get some early season tickets sold - just in case ...

The managers normal response to transfers is i cannot talk about players from other clubs.
Maybe something in this.
Come home boys you know it makes sense playing for the Bluebirds. :bluebird:

Yet they manage to take instruction when playing for Wales.

Yeah the rumor was started by Dalman/Choo. Obviously you must be new here.

He's going to play it down. He has too. But there's alot more than meets the eye. It's all about personal life, not about money. Bales made anyway.

Insiders at the club are 'excited' about something this summer...

Is that Gareth Bale? :?

A certain World Cup qualifier and his future plans will play a part in that; but all speculation and far too early to say

Didn’t we (tentatively) inquire about Bale before his Spurs loan?
As unlikely as it is to happen that would indicate that under the right circumstances the club would be willing to go for it.

Regardless, exciting times ahead.

Money is not the problem despite bales peseved wages of 600k a week... he certainly as to take massive cut wherever he goes so very unlikely money would be his motivation! not sure what's left for him other than personal ambitions... and dont mean medals or cups as done it worn tshirt do nothing to prove on that score.

If Bale and Ramsey wanted to end their careers at Cardiff - then the next year or so would be the time .

Up to them both - Maybe they should look at Bellars who took the chance and not got paid massive wages

Jacks don’t really support wales as it is, they’d probably start actively supporting England at the World Cup if we got either of them
