Not so much as in actual price, but compared to the wages you earned at the time?
I bought a Best Company ski jacket for £150 from the Old Kent Road in about 1986. They had a great shop called L'Uomo that used to sell top-notch clobber. I was only 17 at the time and cost me nearly half a month's wages when I worked at the Inland Revenue at the time. They used to do some lovely stuff in the way of jackets and sweatshirts at that time

I had a Nigel Cabourne t-shirt in about 1990. I loved that, too. It eventually started to fray on the neck so I had to bin it. A sad sad day

Talking of ski jackets, I had a Luhta ski jacket as well. Blue with a grey stripe down each sleeve.
Mind you, wages wise, I guess my most expensive item, now I think more about it, was a Fila tracksuit for £80 in 1983 or 1984. I had a paper round back then!!

I used to keep the tags whenever I bought some nice clobber. Looking back on it, that alsop probably sounds quite sad.
I also used to go into Austin Reed just to try on the Fila and Lacoste gear!!

When I was student living in London I bought a pair of Dirk Bikkenberg boots and a commes des garcon shirt! I think it cost the best part of my student loan

The boots were about £250 and I think the shirt was £200! I was totally skint but at least I looked cool!

I used to have a white baseball-style jacket with Chevignon written in curved letters across the front.
On the subject of long forgotten brands, what about Soviet and Chipie?
