BREAKING: “ SOME GREAT NEWS ON CCFC TRANSFERS “

Wed May 04, 2022 6:38 pm

And who says I don’t like to put positive news out.

I have been told some interesting news today regarding transfers and potential new signings from a person who is always spot on.

What I’ve been told is that apart from Joe Ralls none of the other out of contract players have been offered new deals and will all be released. Talks with Ralls are ongoing though and it’s a low offer, so Ralls is taking his time.

The club also have been speaking to Leeds about trying to make Cody Drameh’s loan move into a permanent one and signing him outright. He apparently loves playing for us and was shocked that he won player of the year and also loves the city and living here and is apparently keen on the move too.

A new season long loan deal for Tommy Doyle is in the works too but there’s competition from several other clubs for him and Man City will have the final decision.

Jordan Hugill will be returning to Norwich and City have shown no interest.

Uche Ikpeazu back to Middlesbrough and the club won’t be looking to make any further moves for either player.

Apparently Ikpeazu isn’t well liked by d some staff or players and apparently is a big time Charlie and can be rude and arrogant?though he’s been welcomed by the fans. This may explain why he was omitted from the match day squad for the Birmingham match.

Curtis Nelson will be appointed the new captain for next season.

Gareth Bale and Cardiff City talks have happened but a lot depends on the outcome of the World Cup play off and if Wales actually qualify or not, but apparently his family are back living in Cardiff and he’s got several business interests here and quite open to the move.

Steve Morison is open to Josh Murphy coming back and if his attitude improves he will asses him over pre season with the potential to offer him a 3 or 6 month short term contract.

That’s all I know so far.

Murphy has the talent but our previous manger played a different way but Morison could bring the best out of him .

That’s all excellent news Annis. :bluescarf: very surprised re Uche.
I did think that Murphy was one of the out of contract players though. Personally, I’d move him on.

All very positive news bar Nelson. I’d look to sell him as soon as possible. He couldn’t get into our team during our best run this season.

If there’s anything in the Drameh aspect, then it makes perfect business sense to sign him.

I know we’re in a period of cost cutting, but any initial outlay could potentially be recouped massively, if he continues to play how he has this season… Here’s hoping.

Really looking forward to seeing what the summer brings. :bluescarf:

How can this be anything but positive news?

I think most (certainly not all) will be okay with the Joe Ralls sutuation; keep him at the right price

Getting rid of all the others (their choice or ours) bar one is no biggie, although I could argue the case for Will Vaulks, too

My personal exception would be captain Sean Morrison; although with Curtis Nelson being linked to the skipper's role, that doesn't look likely and I'll be saddened to see him go

Hadn't hear that about Uche Ikpeazu but I have about certain others, including one or two over-hyped (by certain media people) U-23's who are nit likely to be around next season; and one or two of those have caused their own problems. It doesn't matter what Steve Morison is like as a character, he is the boss and needs a certain (even if begrudging) respect

Again personally, I'm not against a chastened Josh Murphy getting a chance to redeem himself; we need a winger , we paud a lot for him and I genuinely feel he owes us

As for Gareth Bale, it all sounds like a dream but we all felt that about Craig Bellamy; and look where that ended up... :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

I'd give Murphy another go, after all, we gave Tomlin umpteen chances and maybe Morison feels he can get a tune out of him.

Chris the bale situation sounds like its city or no one depending on Wales of course .. but even if we don't qualify maybe a bellers situation would still appeal for a season.

All good stuff there.

I would like to see Vaulks remain and become captain but I'm happy with Nelson being promoted. Then again if Bale comes he will be given that job.

I don’t think he was. Travelled with the squad to the Liverpool game but wasn’t seen again until late March/early April? I’d say it was more the fact that management know he isn’t any good in a back three and I’d love to be proved wrong but I don’t see us in the top half of the table with him in our back four next season either. Had a good run under Harris but had a massively in form Morrison next to him.

Ok fair enough. Management must trust him though to be offering him the captaincy (op).

A few points I'd like to make Annis.

- Cody Drameh if we signed on a permanent deal would be one of our best signings in years. I think he'd go on to make the club £10m+/Be part a big part of the future. I would be amazed if we pulled it off as to be within our budget it would be below what I reckon he is worth. Interesting Leeds are looking for a new RB - Perhaps there's a falling out there :happy1: :thumbright:

- Joe Ralls has been an amazing servant to this club. We are currently over-paying him for him though for where we are. If we were in the Prem I'd have few qualms about him being well paid as he is not only a great servant but has put in some very good performances and is a brilliant pro. A little bit like our own Jordan Henderson.

- Tommy Doyle will be back with us next season, but we will need to play with wingers to see the best of him in my opinion. Plays well as a Deep-Lying Playmaker in a 4-3-3 for England U21s.

- Hugill, good pro and did the job needed.

- Uche, did the job needed. Both him and Hugill not the answer though going forward.

- I worry about CB position, I think we are in desperate need for fresh faces there. Nelson for me is not good enough.

Regarding Nelson as captain.

I’m not sure it’s a good look for the club to have an anti-vax, covid conspiracy theorist as club captain.

There are 1 or 2 anti-vaxers on here who'll now regard him as the greatest CB to play for the club.

I've never rated Curtis Nelson and my opinion is he's not good enough! Never mind captain material. If true that decision would worry me

I'd have fan zhiyi over him

I was of the same opinion of Nelson as others above until recently.

But when he has played as part of a 2 centre back system he has looked very good since he came back and we're not blessed with natural leaders.

That said, if there is any mileage in the Bale rumours then I would think that's the captain situation sorted !!!!

Not so sure as your captain needs to be first choice on your team sheet every week. Big if, but if he came I would have thought he would need to be protected somewhat.

Totally agree
He could be a great ‘voice’ in the dressing room and tbf he’s 100% committed.

Irrelevant

This is an outstanding update!

Surely it would take a very decent fee to secure Drameh permanently though? I'd be very happy to see Drameh and Doyle back next season even if they are both still season long loans.

Not surprised re Hugill and Uche, ultimately both not shown enough or scored enough

Bale to Cardiff I think is far more likely than people realise. I have heard from someone who knows him that his wife is desperate to move back to Cardiff and with his business interests plus his apparent disillusionment with top level football but desire to play for Wales I could see him here. He doesn't need money and a spell here might see him play with the same passion he does for Wales. All the talk is of World Cup but Bale is only 32 and could be part of a Wales squad in Euro 2024 yet as well.

How many chances does Murphy need? I am not convinced he will work but kudos for SM for giving a chance, I hope he doesn't play amazing and then stop as soon as he gets a deal.

Andrew, you were right; Curtis Nelson was out injured for some time with a calf injury. His inclusion in the Liverpool match squad was on his way back into the first team squad but it still took a few weeks to become 'match fit'
