The January part we did well actually thanks totally to do with Steve Morison, as he added quality loan players in and got the other clubs to pay the majority of the wages. Also cleared out many of the players that were not good enough sending them on loan etc.
This time we have to bring in quality in loans this summer and buy a couple , plus put a few young quality young players in.
This time it’s the best chance any managers has had for years being able to clear out All the dead wood, but he will need backing and the £4mill from Kieffer Moore will help big time.
But we will need to spend some money, IF we want promotion and then and again in January.
So yes Steve Morison does deserve a chance , am I convinced? The jury is still out, but he deserves a chance.
Please NO more bullshit from Glen Williams media Wales & Dalman this summer making out every player we sign or bring through are virtually dynamite & stars.
Season ticket sales are very very slow , But will pick up if in June we really do bring in quality players .

I agree with that![]()
We have to back Morison for now, otherwise we'll just lurch from one manager to another and with that sort of reputation it gets increasingly difficult to attract the better ones.
Up until we were safe from relegation Morisons stats were pretty impressive, even moreso when you consider that he took over on the back of 8 successive defeats so had a lot to change in a very short space of time![]()
The Jacks performance was unacceptable, no excuses. But a lot of the performances up to then were very impressive and we beat some good sides and competed well with others e.g. Forest, Fulham, Huddersfield, West Brom, QPR, Stoke, etc.
However, there is no denying that this summer is huge for both Morison and us as a club. Get it right and there will be a level of optimism that we won't have experienced for years. Get it wrong and there will be despondency right from the off and Morison will struggle to maintain any momentum, even if we beat the Jacks 6-0 early on![]()

These are interesting times but I have a feeling we will have to hold our nerve until the Prem transfer window shuts before we have any real idea of how things are going to work out and even then we'll probably have to wait until the end of Sep/Oct for a real understanding of what's going on

The play offs become a lottery, but still a chance.
Malky / Warnock , Bournemouth etc have proved it.

Luton did same and undoubtedly this is the model most clubs will try to emulate.... and luckily for clubs there will be a lot of freebies and good loans available it's a case of getting in the best to suit the squad and way morison wants to play..
It's not all doom and gloom well not yet anyway.

Only if you spend it right. When we got promoted under Warnock pretty much every signing made for money flopped and the free transfers like Hoilett, Bamba, Mendez and Etheridge played major parts.

Don't forget, there were also plenty of "free" failures too. Chamakh, Richardson, Feltscher, Halford, Meite, etc., so Warnock's success rate was actually quite poor, the ones that were a success were excellent but the others were awful !!

Jury is still out on SM for me, especially after the Swansea game... but he deserves a chance. Any other manager would be in the same situation as we have limited money, and he has proved his worth in January with regards to the transfer window.

That's what I'm hoping for. As long as I can see we are progressing on and off the pitch I'll be happy. I think anyone expecting a top 6 finish is setting themselves up for dissapointment.
Morison definitely deserves this opportunity. But it seems a few people have the daggers out already and are just waiting for him to fail.

Agreed.
The reality is we can't afford a top proven manager and don't have the budget they would want anyway.
People forget that a top manager would come with demands on recruitment that we are in no position to meet.
Let's see what SM can do.

If Sheff Utd get promoted this season then 5 of the 6 clubs that have came down in the last two seasons have been promoted again. On top of that only 4 clubs that have never been in the premier league before have been promoted since 2011. Most clubs re-invest to try and go back up.

That's the situation we are in. Experienced managers have failed in this league as well - Haughton at forest being the obvious one.
Morison has shown he can change the performance of an unbalanced group of limited players and has shown he can operate well in the transfer window. Hopefully the club back him as much as possible over the summer and he gets a good opportunity to show us what he can do. I'm looking forward to next season. Even if morison doesn't do as well as we hope, I feel he'll bring in players that could build a decent foundation for the squad.
