I really dont understand some people. You are doing the Cardiff Citys board job for them!

Denham... seen some promise. Should be in an around the squad next year. Doesnt sound like a kid with starry eyes, seems very level headed

Davies... shown glimpses. Certainly not enough to be a starter

King... dont even know why he is anywhere near. The games I have seen him play the match has completely passed him by. He has no impact on the game

Colwill... improving as his self belief grows. Not the finished article. Doesnt look like a worker, but training with the Welsh squad can only help.

Im amazed you didnt add Zimba, Harris and Bagan to the list. None of whom are anywhere near the syandard needed to compete.

Dont forget our other welsh striker Mark Harris who when played has the pace and quality to hurt defenders.
I call it the welsh trio of Isaak Davies, Rubin Colwill AND Mark Harris. The 3 welshmen that will take the bluebirds by storm next season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

They will have taken a lot from this year and now they have a full pre-season with the first team that will only do them good. That being said I hope we sign enough players to not have to rely on them too strongly. In an ideal world, we'd be able to loan a couple of them out but in this day and age, I think we need them in the squad.

Us fans need to be patient with them :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Denham - Looks promising. Will only get better by playing with the first team.

Davies - Got lots of potential but I’d have him as a winger. Needs to work on his end product.

King - I Havnt seen enough of him to judge.

Colwill - I feel he is slightly over rated by a few. He has technical ability, but he has no pace or the work ethic desired and that’s why SM doesn’t start him too often in my opinion.

Yes but under Steve Morison he can get better and thrive under his management. I believe that Steve Morison will do his best to get our youngsters firing at all cylinders next season.

I agree with Annis on this one. Mark Harris is 24 now and his record is terrible for a forward player. Not good enough for the championship in my opinion. Would love to be proved wrong.

Cheers,

5 different managers have failed with Harris.
He’s 24hrs old and plays for 15mins and can’t score goals .
League 2 player.

@Ollie_Denham - Not sure what happens if we go to a back four, he doesn't fit yet at his stage of his career. As the outside of a three, hopefully there are two ahead of him and he gets a gentle introduction.

@isaakdavies77- Got a feeling he may fall by the wayside. Probably shouldn't have been playing his first 20 games of his professional career at a failing championship club which he dearly loves. Needs a loan move unless we are playing with inside forwards, he just isn't a runner off a big man. I thought that left football 10 years ago, he doesn't know how to play it.

@Eli8King- Seen nothing to suggest he should be anywhere near a championship team at his stage of his career. Needs to drop down to L2 or conference and get 40 games into his legs

@RubinColwill - On technique and football vision is premier league, but has the athletic capability of a 40 fags a day parks player. I know SM has said he will look after him but its time to get a bit more professional. After Saturday's game he need to pop on a plane with his mates, go on a fortnight's holiday then meet his new personal club appointed trainer and have a pre season pre season.

Harris is a conundrum. I think the only way he makes it in the championship is in a 4231 as one of the two attacking wide midfielders, or as an inside forward in a 433. He works hard and does help our his wing/full back.
I think as a centre forward he'll need to drop down to L1.

I do believe its unfair to write Davies or Harris off as they have been asked to play a hybrid position which is probably alien to both of them. SM stated Hugil played better with a partner so forced the issue, it got us results so i am not complaining, but with Hugil departing I'd love to know what the intention is next season.

I think Davies is a real gem. You can't teach pace and he have some good other attributes. If he works on his finishing he could hit 15 goals a season at this level from an inside forward position.

You definitely can teach and coach pace That’s why so many teams and sports have sprinting coaches They can make you quicker and can teach you the best ways to use your speed They can make a slow player quicker but not a world beater
Davies has raw pace and he does need to be coached on how to get the best out of it in football

My point is you cannot make a slow player quick, you can perhaps make a quick player even faster or a slow player not as slow. Davies has pace that other players will never have no matter what the training routine.

With respect, I can name plenty of speed merchants that have been useless at football at professional level.

Not saying Davies is useless, but if he ws a decent player, at his age, ge would be a regular starter. He has only made the appearances he has because a) he has indeed shown 'glimpses' and b) because of Tans experimebt in playing kids

Sure but Davies has shown he is far from 'useless' by getting himself in the goals at this level and putting in some good performances. At this age he has shown enough potential that if he keeps on improving he could be a real asset at this level. But he has to make that improvement and I think he will.

Agreed. Inconsistency is to be expected for a players first full senior season and he has shown that given time to develop he may have what it takes. Barclay can't see past his nose so it's pointless trying to talk any sense to him.

Would like to see Ashford and Crole given a chance with us next season.

I’ve watched a lot of the 23s and Creole has a bit of Earnie about him with his finishing. Had a chance yesterday when he got it first time on the left foot volley after a deflection. Keeper didn’t move, if it was on target then it was a goal. You can’t teach that poachers instinct and he could be one to watch. I’d like to see him out on loan somewhere if he isn’t ready for our first team.

Ashford oozes confidence. Changed the game when he came on yesterday and looks like he can create something out of nothing. Maybe a loan to a league two team would help him even more but he could be a big part of the rebuild if he’s managed correctly.

at his age he is 19 and should be a regular starter and burnt out by 21 do me a favour give your head a wobble

Yeah sure l give my head a wobble.

Isaak Daves is 21 in a few months time, not 19. Tell you what, why not argue the point with other posters who have verbalised the same opinion on the lad as I have.....No? Thought not,

If hes.not good enough now, chances are he may not make it at this level.

So by your logic, if a striker isn't "good enough" at 20 he'll never make it?

Serious question, have you been watching football long?

Second ridiculous post. Again I have to ask, where have I said he'll 'never make it' in the quote of mine you have copied?

As for your second statement, a bit patronising really but its what I expect. Ill humour you, yes i have, almost 50 years player, referee, spectator. Cardiff City home and away, and ive seen the whole spectrum, good to bad, to very bad.

I deal in reality and have seen trends repeated again and again throughout football. The 'usual suspects' on here prefer wear blinkers.

Ill give credit where due, but with the current regime, ill look to see who we start with next season. If promises are kept then fair play.

Im not getting excited, but back to the original source of this post. The 4 players quoted would be absolutely nowhere near the 1st team if we were to invest a realistic and appropriate sum of money on quality and experience at Championship level.
