Andreas Cornelius picking up

Sun May 01, 2022 6:01 pm

Andreas Cornelius picking up a Turkish Super League winners medal. He’s also on course for the golden boot as he’s on 15 goals for the season

This club broke that boy. Took him a good while to get back on track after the shitshow we put him through and blamed him for. Was a promising youngster when we picked him up. He deserved better treatment. Glad he’s seeing success now.

Didn’t Malky say at the time that he was one for the future?

Ten years or so later perhaps he had a point….

He was absolute crap when with us.

Plenty on here including some still posting reckoned for 8m he should have been ready. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Malky fucked right up on him ,signed him as our mine striker then said he was one for the future at the time 8m was big money .

He hardly played so it would be difficult to prove either way. Same applies to Glatzel who has been knocking them in again.

We just don't seem capable of handling strikers correctly.

I saw enough of him v Fleetwood in the cup and a sun appearance to see that he was miles away from the first team. Awful signing for a premier league side.

He lived in Sully and a friend said he said he'd be in the little Cons Club drinking every night. I can say I actually saw him score in a dev squad game and he looked like he was carrying a bit of timber around the middle. I did think it was a very odd deal at the time, the whole 'one for the future' thing didn't ring true with me. Good luck to him though.

At the time, I was talking to the Mayor of Copenhagen he was on holiday in Santa Ponsa and he said oh he’s joining your club Cardiff City, Cornelius is one of the best players to ever come out, but he is still learning.

I would too if I’d paid £8m for him.

Glatzel played plenty. Whether or not he'd flourish in a different system is another question but I'm not sure if the championship is for him personally.

Who says Cardiff broke him? He just wasn’t good enough, very poor in fact. Maybe because he was too young or playing in a ooor team, but he didn’t show any sign of promise. To say Cardiff broke him is just melodrama IMO

Acorn knew he was struggling and you could see it on his face during pre match kick about.

His first outing at the pre-friends against Forest Green he just look clumsy to me. First impression count and I was not wrong for once.

He wasn't at the time, and never has been since, good enough for the Premier League. Would have probably done well at Celtic/Rangers but no higher.
