PNE boss: Murphy didn't meet the standard
Cardiff City's Josh Murphy "didn't meet the standards" at Preston North End as boss Ryan Lowe confirmed the winger had been let go from his loan deal early.
The 27-year-old's stint at Deepdale has been terrible, featuring just five times as a substitute since Lowe took over from Frankie McAvoy in December. His season has also been blighted by injury, too, having completed just 12 games in total for the Lilywhites this term.
Both Murphy and Izzy Brown were let go by Preston this week, with reports up in Lancashire citing "punctuality and attitude" problems.
Manager Lowe on Thursday said: “The two of them had an opportunity to showcase what they could do for us, I have high standards and unfortunately they didn’t meet those standards. I wish them both the best.”
Murphy is out of contract at Cardiff and will not be offered fresh terms.
