" Twist in Gareth Bale's future "

Media Wales reporters have got to stop the bullshit making out he is coming to Cardiff.

MLS side DC United have restarted talks with Gareth Bale's representatives over a move to the United States this summer, according to reports across the Atlantic.

Bale would be given once again massive wages (£300,000 a week) along with a very lucrative life style in the USA.

It does not look like Bale will be playing for Cardiff City next season, far from it, with such deals available to him.

Bale's contract at Real Madrid finally runs out this summer and it has been all-but confirmed that he will leave the Spanish capital. Quite where his next destination will be still appears up in the air at the moment.

There were reports earlier this year that his former club, Tottenham, were keen to have him back. Cardiff City have also been mentioned by some as a possible destination and those two clubs are the bookmakers' front-runners as things stand.

However, the Washington Post's football correspondent Steven Goff has claimed that DC United have reopened talks with Bale's agent over the Wales captain heading to the MLS this summer.

The MLS season runs until October 9, with the World Cup not kicking off until a month later. The American transfer window reopens mid-season between July 7 and August 4, so there is a possibility that a deal could be struck for the back end of the MLS campaign. Whether that lay-off between October 9 and November 21, when the World Cup begins, is too much of a stretch to maintain fitness levels, however, is an aspect which will need to be thought out.

However, veteran football writer Goff believes that DC United, who are owned by Swansea City chiefs Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan, are willing to table an offer of eye-watering wages, eclipsing that which was earned by Wayne Rooney during his time with the Washington club. Rooney's wage was reportedly £300,000 per week at DC United. Bale's bumper Real Madrid contract is currently worth double that.

More unlikely imo is him travelling to the USA for a year.

I don’t think he’ll be worried about who owns the money tbh and they are Americans that own Swansea City not Jacks so it’s American money really. Having saying that I don’t think he’ll be going to the USA but not for ‘Jack’ reasons though. He’s coming home :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Same as i have heard from a very reliable source. The family are intending to come back to Wales.

So if he does go abroad he will have to leave his family for a while, which doesn't seem to fit in with his character.

I can't see him going to the MLS when we can offer £12k a week and a flat overlooking the bay.

I agree, Wez; with Southampton as a possibility, too...

The USA thing is only talk of an initial approach or what we might call 'sounding out' and I honestly believe Gareth's priorities in football and in life have changed

Wales at a World Cup is his (and many supporters) remaining dream and assuming they qualify, he will do what is needed to ensure he plays his part

Spurs would be a great, commutable pull for him; but the lure of his hometown and boyhood (supporting) club must be in his mind and he could make it happen, if he really wanted to

Failure to qualify would, IMHO, make him coming here less likely and he will then have many viable options, inc. maybe retirement (not that I think he will choose that one)

Mrs.Bale wants to come home to Wales.Perhaps she might have a say,cos they don't need the money.
